Susie is getting a whole lot of fucking development and I think she's pretty much my favorite character, despite being a tough tomboy I feel like these recent chapters really highlight her getting comfortable enough to be more feminine and show off the softer side of her.

Ch 4 wasn't that funny and it's dipping too far into melodrama too early. Any moment of levity is becoming more awkward as the the story gets more serious, and I'm worried the second half of this game is gonna be an absolute slog. Even the normal route is fucked. Intentional, especially chapter 3. The entire theme of chapter 3 is Tenna pretending Kris' fucked up family life is actually okay and distracting them with fun. That's why everything outside of the tv station is dead and desolate. Also all the darkners are made up of random shit kris and asriel and des used to steal lmao

Chapter 4 has the team realize how isolated they are, including Toriel's neglect being shown full force. Which serves the dark themes of control (or a lack of) that chapter 4 has, and is the reason that world is also desolate. The fun is being stripped away, and the real world problems the lancer fan club is ignoring are encoraching on the dark world, and vice versa.

The cyber world is literally the internet, and all the "alive npc's" are mainly literal adware and scams.
There's multiple instances of many npc's telling you that Tenna essentially took over what was supposed to be a completely different dark world (the purple cliffs area) and forced everyone to work in the tv factory thanks to his special deal with kris and or the knight. So you take this world and smash it into a single tv studio, the rest of the world becomes desolate. Tenna and kris fucked with the world hard before (YOU) end up there.
I accept your concession of zero media literacy. You can think it's bad design or a stupid idea, but the game literally verbatim explains why chapter 3 is so empty outside of the studio.

It puts you into the tunnel where you'd meet Tenna's avatar in Mantle part 3, and he's talking about Kris and why he never laughs and smiles anymore. Walking forward makes him comment on hearing footsteps and that he needs to get out of there. There doesn't seem to be a way to make it to the path, I tried for like a half a minute. Implies either Kris has been depressed for a really damn long time, or that "we" have been with him for much longer, potentially as a result of the divorce, and that only after outside influence from you know who that we've gained complete control over Kris as a result, albeit for only a short period before he forcefully ejects us.

I mean that it doesn't have the variety of notable characters and character interactions like Cyberworld or Card Kingdom did. Chapter 3 only has Tenna, Ramb and the weather couple. Meanwhile Cyberworld had Spamton who used to be friends with the Addisons and tried to copy off Swatch's style or how chapter 1 had Seam and Jevil who used to play games together and Lancer has two dads with King and Roulxs Kaard. None of which TV world's character variety or character dynamics reach the level as 1 or 2.
