I wouldn't say either of these were broken. Arguably the second is, but even if you don't consider the Roaring Knight the secret boss there's still the Mantle. Also, I feel like every suggestion that Catti or whoever else would become a party member was dumb in the first place, the game had a clear focus on Kris/Susie/Ralsei as the main trio from the outset. I can see some segments with other characters in the party, like how Noelle was, but it's never going to be some big ensemble of the whole gang coming into the Dark World.
