>"Extraction called, shuttle arrives in 2 minutes"
>The sickest, most bombastic music track plays
>not a single enemy spawns in or shows up so you just stare at your teammates for two minutes until the shuttle arrives
>>712708920 (OP)This game sucks ass. It's fun until you realize it actively fucks you with horrible pathfinding and no matter how good you become, you will die in the most ridiculous ways completely out of your control. That and most of the time you play isn't even in mission.
>>712708920 (OP)every time I board the shuttle I feel like shutting the game off immediately. the gameplay is so damn good but holy shit when you've seen that exit sequence for the thousandth time it gets old. the dive sequence never gets old however
>>712708920 (OP)Play on difficulty higher than 6, scrubdiver
>>712709193the sequence is fine for me, but the end game stats and mission debrief are fucking useless, just load me into the ship I dont care about any of that shit
>>712708920 (OP)What difficulty are you playing in OP?
Just finished a D10 mission and there were multiple breaches, bile titans, impalers, hordes of predators. They really should bring back the feature where if the Pelican got its paint scratched by a stray bullet it'd leave and come later, it's goofy when you drop a napalm barrage and somehow it's invulnerable.
>>712708920 (OP)its a known bug thats low priority on the fix list, it happens when extract is near a corner of the map, the game forbids spawning enemies from out-of-bounds areas and if the surrounding area is partly out of bounds no enemies will spawn.
>>712709193https://youtu.be/DBWuKPdpM9s?list=PLRW80bBvVD3WbTfm6vm4ycbHxCU3A2Cwy&t=120
>>712709193>>712709294I use that time for bathroom breaks
>>712708920 (OP)I turned off the music months ago because there's like one track per faction and on higher difficulties you're always in combat so it's constantly blaring in the background. I should devise a mod that only has the drop and extract music enabled.
HD1 extraction theme was better anyway
>>712709297If you take 30 seconds to clear out all the stragglers and patrols chasing you to extract it's almost always a snooze. Calling it makes the enemy aggression skyrocket but that doesnt matter if there's no one to call a breach/drop. Another reason why early extract callers get cluster striked.
>permanent Illuminate front
What now
I forget, does the loadout selection screen even have music?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SeLC55FOUCI
>>712708920 (OP)Sometimes its like that. Other times the enemies wont stop spawning and everyone dies before anyone has a chance to even touch the extraction beacon
>>712709423I'm still waiting for the event or warbond that will give us the HD1 theme
>>712708920 (OP)Go play on level 7 or above.
What would you make for a hypothetical fourth faction?
Helldiver/SEAF defectors?
>>712710165they have every sci fi alien trope covered with the 3 existing factions so the only thing left is just other humans.
>>712710165It would probably have to be a new type of alien, Super Earth is such a big brother state that any rebellion would be snuffed out before it got anywhere
>>712710430But what about tall big titty futa al-
>>712710165>Helldiver/SEAF defectors? The problem with that is that our weapons are very good at killing us and if they had access to even 1/4 of our arsenal it would be a very bad time.
>>712708920 (OP)Alternatively.
>Time to go extract>Arrive at extraction site>Extraction terminal is glitched and it's just the blue beam there
>>712708920 (OP)they nerfed the extraction spawns because swedes are gay
>>712710465Even then it's not like any rebellious elements would be spared getting attacked by the other factions as well. Literally impossible to survive.
>>712710430I don't think it would really work. Cyborgs were ideological separatists before. The people that protested against the bullshit aggressive attack on the Illuminate in HD1 got gulaged and executed. State suppression is too powerful to have actual dissidents.
>>712710165Defectors/dissidents sounds good. Playing as the Helldiver inquisition sounds fun.
>>712710581>State suppression is too powerful to have actual dissidentsIs that really true now that Super Earth is in ruins?
>>712710646Those ruins weren't made by dissidents but by enemy forces.
>>712709806Difficulty doesn't matter because I've had it happen on 7 too. I've heard it's related to a glitch with extractions that are near the edge of the map but idk if that's true
>>712710697That's just what the ministry of truth wants you to think
>>712710697He means that Super Earth is weakened right now because it got fucked by aliens recently.
>>712710646Which had no material consequences at all since apparently we're still pushing the bugs just fine.
The only way to have the state apparatus crack would be a coup, or FTL communication simultaneously failing on the whole Federation, or revealing that the High Command got SQUIGGED secretly on SE or something.
>>712710556There's evidence the bots and bugs have been fighting, you can sometimes see their corpses together.
>>712710165I would rather see multi-faction infighting happen before that if devs can manage without exploding the game's engine
>>712710863Same that sounds pretty fun.
>>712710742Structurally but their ideological grasp on the population is as strong as ever, if not stronger. So I don't think notable rebellions would form.
>>712710773I'm suprised that bugs haven't attacked illuminate yet especially since they were in such close proximity not that long ago.
Speaking of squids
>update text leaks show the next story MO would be about closing the wormhole
So Mr. Joel acknowledges that there's an entire Illuminate galaxy/sector on the other side that could bitchrape SE if they sent more than a probing attack, and the solution is to lock them away. Thanks Sweden.
>>712710773I really do hope we get planets with a warfront between those factions. I am just not certain the engine can handle it.
>>712711006God I just wanna fight bots
>>712710961Illuminate have maxed the biology tech tree, they'd hard counter bugs, they're all meat after all.
Be thankful Arrowhead hasn't added Illuminate bioweapon bugs as units to pad out the squid faction
>>712711053Then you're in luck because it'll involve blowing up the DSS. The Sw*des have realized the current DSS implementation sucks dick so they'll blow it up and make a new one.
Be ready to kill five trillion bots in the next MO to build DSS 2
>>712711092Why would i be thankful of that. Illuminate need some new units even if it's just illuminate bugs. It's so boring to fight the squids i'd take anything at this point.
>music
Does anyone else think they should have multiple themes etc. I mean, don't get me wrong the deploy song and the extraction song are great, but that was a year ago - can we get some variety? Same with the opening cinematic - how about some updated ones going along with each major patch? Likewise with other media played from each super-destroyer.
There's other shit they need to do that's actually functional and content to add (including BRING BACK THE GODDAMN KILLZONE GEAR AGAIN IF WE MISSED IT) but they can get a lot of goodwill by A) not being shitty with monetization which they've done pretty well so far; though increased SC drops would be a nice B) making changes to music, media, and other things that enhance the story and environment.
Let me trade samples/medals for weapon XP damnit the lv 20+ grind is actual aids
is the supercredit farming nerfed? i remember about year ago you got decent amount SC in hour by just solo running 3-4level maps
>>712711015I recall one of the devs saying they've had them fighting in sandboxes, but it is difficult to put into the game proper or something along those lines.
>>712711391There's a new farm right now where the megacity maps have a park with like ~6 or so bunkers containing possible supercredits.
>>712711226the music is boring as fuck, samey, dull and stagnant, put on proper music after 10 hours of playing
>>712708920 (OP)yes its kinda nerfed or bugged sometimes if extraction zone its at the edge of the map
>>712711396Not surprising, hundreds of bugs vs hundreds of bots with thousands of projectiles. Not sure what game engine even could handle all that.
>>712709109and still you praise mitsubishi soulslop
>>712708920 (OP)they really need to fix that and go overboard, in the first game, extraction was one of the hardest things ever because the game wouldnt stop spamming swarms and heavies, there was not a better feeling than thinking that its fucking over then the shuttle arrives and lands on top of a heavy and you barely managing to get in
>>712711006you want another galactic map when we barely conquest the first?
>>712711391The only nerf so far is that you can't find a map with good SC spawns and keep running the same one again and again. They have acknowledged that running diff 1-3 for SC isn't the best way for it to be distributed, they're fine with people doing it, but it's not exactly fun or reward stuff.
>>712709297The pelican doesn't fuck off if it gets damaged anymore? I only just came back to the game and I've been paranoid about that.
>>712711396I would be fine with small squads from one faction coming off map to run into you or the other main faction, would spice things up a bit.
>>712709297it should just blow up by the trolling drop a strat airstrike on the pelican
>>712711702>but it's not exactly fun or reward stuff.Fucking piece of shit swedes should think of something then, shouldn't they?
>>712711791Yes, redditors complained
>>712711159Squids desperately need more units but it should be higher tier, some Combine style elite enemies. Voteless are enough horde fodder, and they didn't even bother adding armored SEAF Voteless
>>712712179They haven't given us half their roster from the first game. I really hope they aren't jut being lazy about this.
>>712712179given the leaks well get classic illuminate or nope cause it think iron just managed to make them playable the cutcontent enemies
>>712712279Maybe they aren't willing to throw pure squids into war anymore, because lore. Or they're just lazy.
>>712712279Swedish devs being lazy? Unthinkable.
>>712712437they re lazy newest enemy its the rat king of voteless but its more cancer than bug charger and has the healthpool of a bile titan even in lowest difficulty it spawns also popping heads and stun does nothing when it charges
>>712712279That's being a bit disengeuous when Illuminates in 2 have new units compared to 1, although I would like to see the mind control guys come back in some way
>>712709109>matter how good you become, you will die in the most ridiculous waysYeah it's a comedy game.
>most of the time you play isn't even in mission The fuck are you on about?
>>712710698That is true, yeah. Sometimes you'll get an infinite spawn in corners from patrols just walking in from out of bounds and then sometimes you'll get NOTHING because every patrol is on the opposite corner slowly walking to you.
>>712710742>"I don't really think Super Earth has our best interests at heart">get chased down the street by a fleshmob and get saved by SEAF or a Helldiver>"For the glory of Super Earth!"It'd be even easier for offworld colonies. Show them that the Illuminate really were the bad guys and truly had WMD 100 years ago by showing them footage of voteless and fleshmobs running around on Super Earth. That universe is extremely horrific so people probably just wholly throw themselves into blind patriotism since the only other options are to die, die and turn/die.
>>712710165nah another alien faction maybe notcovenant
>>712709423This
When the first trailer hit, I immediately noticed the worse music production.
They pretty much perfected it for HD1. But it might not work for HD2's pacing.
>>712708920 (OP)Yeah that really sucks. It's either that or you get steamrolled by waves and waves of enemies.
So from what I've seen, why are there so many glitches in HD2 gameplay? HD1 was a really polished product, barely any glitches other than driving vehicles onto cliffs to fly away.
>>712711006It wont work and we'll still get the units, most likely.
>>712714090The only glitch I ever really encounter anymore is the one where the game freezes when you quit. It's a lot better than it was at launch when climbing over a bile titan carcass would fling you into the air or fire didn't deal proper damage for anyone but the host
>>712712279We've seen these recently but, just like the APC, who knows how far out this is or if it's even coming.
>>712714090They aren't really egregious bugs, just fun jank because of the 3D environments, like getting stuck between corpses and geometry, but usually a dive fixes it. Or landing a hellpod on a building you aren't supposed to then having to kill yourself, or a Bile Titan's leg clipping on a hill when it dies and instakill and catapulting you into the stratosphere.
The actual game breaking bugs like being unable to reinforce, or strategems not working, are mostly fixed now
>>712714579>They aren't really egregious bugsThe last update was literally unplayable.
>>712714627The police warbond one? It fucked up by GPU drivers so hard the whole computer would blackscreen.
>>712713949i like the anthem with lyrics thats all the helldive mission intro avenger music is so mid shit for me
>>712714678No the one before where fast inputs would break stratagems. Though this update is broken as well, the new grenade launcher isn't doing the damage it's supposed to and some missions don't spawn enemies.
>>712714747Man I've been playing since launch day and that input bug was easily the worst I've ever experienced in the game. The early months of random insta closing windows and crashing when locking on with the spear were bad, but something about being unable to input my strats efficiently legit made me wanna kill myself. Luckily they patched it quick but what is WITH the swedes using unruly engines?
>>712714925>Luckily they patched it quickIt took them several DAYS. Meanwhile there was a bug that allowed you to spam stratagems, that was patched within hours.
How long until melee weapons are fixed
>>712714976Remember when the Arc Launcher caused integer overflow and crashed the game?
>>712714976That one actually was around for a couple days. People just tried to keep it on the down low so it wouldn't get patched as fast.
>>712708920 (OP)>1 teammate proceeds to execute everyone else and then gets on the shuttleor
>Host kicks the people who somehow slighted him and they are left with 0 rewards for their efforts
>>712708920 (OP)I remember a bit after release first time playing high diff mission with friends, enemy spawn were bugged resulting in 8 bile titans at the evac spot not counting chargers as well, no more reinforcement, last man standing, out of ammo, all samples on me, I was moving like Jack Sparrow in that scene waiting for extraction
still funniest shit that happened to me in this game
>>712715124I've been that first guy before. And getting kicked just puts you in your own game so you don't really lose anything.
>>712708920 (OP)>time an equipment, sentry, or vehicle stratagem so that it arrives as soon as the evac shuttle lands >the shuttle lands on top of it and is sent flying or disappears undergroundI just can't help but keep doing it
>>712709304I thought it had to do with how spawning works outside of LoS and when you're near the map border if everyone looks around accidentally the game shits itself trying to find a place to place enemies at. Not it just breaking from being near the border.
I played for the first month and did like 70hrs just smashing the hardest difficulty. Then they changed the hardest difficulty and made it feel like dogshit. A really good player should be able to go off and quickly solo an objective even on the hardest difficulty but the first few patches fucked your movement and had terrible hit boxes. Played 2 hours of the new faction but they felt shit so cbf.
It's kinda like in l4d versus. A really good player was able to generally solo shit and it felt good to be rewarded. You could argue well it's a team game and sure but I didn't like the change of pace that I got used to. Like getting hit by 1 bug once sometimes then made it impossible to ever recover after that month 1 patch.

>>712708920 (OP)On launch it would be intense but ever since a few updates past then, literally nothing spawns now
>>712708920 (OP)This game hasn't been fun since normoids forced the devs to make it winnable every time. Super helldive is boring compared to launch helldive.
>>712715132As far as I can tell, if you're not host and you have either a bad connection or bad performance, your weapon will get stuck in an upright position whenever you try to prep it or swing it and it won't attack until you stop trying to melee for a while.
>>712715124Kicking players automatically makes them hosts of their own sessions instantly nowadays, so worst case scenario you get fucked because you were swarmed before the kick, otherwise you get to keep everything collected for yourself
>>712715274Intentional or not, HD is one of the few games that offers chaotic fun. We used to have more of those I feel but the shit became utterly corporate.
>>712715489God dammit. Hopefully they unfuck that before I can buy the ceremonial bond.
Whoops, looks like another paid public holiday under our superior Nordic social democracy model, it's the day we traditionally eat wild berries, tree bark and reindeer meatballs.
An intern from Sony will be randomly adjusting MO liberation rates by throwing darts on a wall then post on discord. Bye!
>>712715553I'm not even sure if they're paying attention to it since I haven't been able to consistently reproduce it unless I'm in a city map or getting swamped. I have had to stop using melee weapons for now though, the bug's gotten me killed
>>712715124Or my personal favourite
>Knee keep in voteless in exosuit>Two fucking fleshhulks bearing down on me>And a harvester coming around the corner>The buzzing jetpack bastard's making it even more obvious I need to kill everything that isn't human.>Only other player in match dies>Sits there hammering reinforce while it's blatantly fucking obvious if I ditch the mech we both end up dead.>They fucking rage quit and leave whilst I'm still in the midst of killing the horde I'm surrounded with. What? You wanted me to bail and die as well? You couldn't wait for a minute, maybe two? Just until I clear the clusterfuck around me and then drop a beacon?
What makes it worse is it keeps happening more often recently, are other players attention spans that fucked that they'd rather we BOTH die than be left out the game for a single fucking minute? Or do they not care about the fact we'd both end up roadkill?
there is no better feeling than waving the One True Flag as the pelican lands and then after the rest of the crew hops on you plant it in the ground and dive on board leaving it as a sign of your victory
>>712715434True. I still remember launch bots. Fighting them on D9 was so much fun before they got nerfed into oblivion.
>>712716158I always cringe whenever i see some redditor waving that waste of a stratagem slot around.
>>712716529my flag gets more kills than your 500kg bombs
They made this game way too easy.
Was watching some guy and a team do superhelldive, walking around the map with mechs, never dying once, and then the comments and the commentator were complaining how long mech cooldowns were.
This game ended up pandering to the worst people and the balance is now worse off for it, really sad because this game used to feel exhilarating.
Now it feels like theres long stretches where absolutely nothing is happening.
>>712717453mech cooldown its retarded if you got limited uses
>>712711495>>712712669>>712718773Bro, learn the difference between is and its, reading you is actually painful.
>>712711154Given how they fuck around with their MO's, how often more bugs will crop up in said implementation, and how many bugs are STILL in this fucking game given its age on top of the already lackluster influx of new divers who regularly suck ass, I'm losing steam on actually continuing playing this fucking game.
And this is coming from someone who has played since before Malevelon Creek, continued to play it through Tien Kwan, installed the bugspray towers on Meridia, watched the Gloom spread, fought for the sick kids on Vernen Wells and gave AH the fucking middle finger on tank mines, turned Meridia into a black hole, and then throughout the rest of the campaigns up to and including the fight for SE, and have been continuing on so far begrudgingly.
The 'narrative' bullshit they're practically forcing their players through (with the exception of Super Earths defense) is like some tweeniebopper's first DND session who is railroading their players like petulant DMs saying "Do this or Im taking my board and going home"
The only two times we as helldivers have had any actual agency in the entire game so far have been on the Creek (where Joel damn near forced us to lose twice) and us saying "fuck off Arrowhead we don't fucking want more mines", to which they were forced upon us anyway for even more shitbag divers to pick up and waste good stratagem slots.
>>712711226Everything else you've said is a fair and valid observation, but the new bug cities we've been given so far have had massive increases in SC drops with the HUGE upswing in bunker populations within said cities.
Go fucking play with a friend and search them and I can practically guarantee you +150SC per dive, and +500SC if you get lucky
>>712711518Planetside 2 does this on one continent +250sqKm with 1000 players per faction, with 3 factions fighting. Its well within tolerances to do.
Being able to do it well, that's another story

>>712725682I imagine creating different biomes is a lot more intensive than you might think. All shitposting aside AH has done really well overall despite some stupidity here and there.
>>712708920 (OP)Yeah, it used to be a lot more intense, but people kept crying about the difficulty so AH neutered the game a bit.
I miss bugged/overtuned difficulty with 6+ bile titans at once
I just really don't like how enemy patrols get course corrected onto you.
>>712726621To be fair, a lot of the extra difficulty came from the great nerf that happened around the same time as the PSN fiasco
>>712726621>>712726693I don't miss it. If things kept going the way they were at the start of HD2 then we'd all be slaves to meta loadouts to complete any higher difficulty missions. Now most weapons and stratagems are viable in some manner or another so players are encouraged to experiment and can make more interesting choices on how to tackle missions.
>>712726572I don't give a shit. Considering what games cost these days having high expectations should be expected. I don't care about the devs whining because they have to work a little harder. They get paid for that.
The stingray engine is a major shitshow holding the game back. Also it's abit easy at D10, I would like if you were made to stick together more and had more heavy enemies that posed major threats like striders.
that being said, the gunplay is some the best for a good mix of game-y and realism and it's just fun dropping bombs on stuff
>>712726923You could just lower the difficulty. Super Helldive feels easier than level 7 on launch

the fire damage bug? oh yeah that'll take 3 more months to fix
Trailers show some scavenger bots running away when Helldivers arrive, so neither bugs nor bots are retarded. Even if the bugs aren't sentient, there's animal instinct.
Their AI SHOULD run away or have a fear state under certain scenarios. The flamethrower is fucking useless because a stream of burning napalm somehow doesn't scare off bugs at all, they keep running through it to burn you then die.
If you're on a mech, smaller shitbugs should be scurrying away from you, maybe try to run to bigger bugs and call for help, not ineffectively swarm and try to scratch your paint.
>>712708920 (OP)Here is a comprehensive guide for why nothing spawns:
Too close to edge of map? (About 100m) Enemies will not spawn within that range, if no outposts are left, that's the only area they can spawn at.
Near water? Enemies cannot spawn there.
The game will always have a countdown running for spawning a patrol but starting an extract speed up the timer about sixfold. Which man's the game almost always will be spawning enemies walking towards you but if outposts don't exist they may always attempt to spawn them within the area they are forbidden to spawn.
>>712732436It's actually pretty retarded that the bugs aren't afraid of fire. With all these flame based weapons and grenades you'd think fire would be the one thing that properly counters bugs but thry don't give a shit.
>>712732436Flamethrowers do a lot of damage to tanky enemies and flame throwers should always be prefired before the bugs get in range of it, using the flamethrower for anything TOO close is always a bad idea.
Also bugs should not feel fear because bugs are robotic suicidal creatures, ever seen how bees kill wasps? The only ones that do are the bigger ones like commanders and stalkers because they are valuable and stealthy.
>>712732436Super Earth owes me a complimentary squ'ith girlfriend.

Should the existing voteless heavy Squid roster actually be a subfaction of the Illuminates with some of the original squid units returning in a separate faction? Also the subfactions are currently defined by like 1 or 2 different units that force you to change approach. Spore bugs and Jeet brigade are pretty much nothing.

I like convincing the whole team to go mine stratagems exclusively (actually OP) or full 380/120mm barrage with one scout car to drive by stratagem drop
What caused the vitriol around this game? Seems like a really solid coop dad game with a very tight and limited experience.
>>712744773Explosive Crossbow already has that ya fuckin retard.
Get the Scout armor which reduces visibility by 30%, the crossbow, and gas grenades, and you will never have to deal with a bug breach unless its a guaranteed thing like with flag raising, seismic surveys, or nuking nurseries.
>>712748447The beginning of the game was pretty damn tight and responsive on top of being a huge breath of fresh air on the PVE 4-player coop scene. This led to an explosion in player population which Arrowhead was 1000% not ready for (they expected around 25k players at any given time, seeing as HD1 was just a mild success). This led to WEEKS of players being unable to play the game, the servers shitting themselves, and bugs out the ass since everyone and their mothers were playing on wildly different rigs ON TOP OF the cross-platform play. So they had to fix PS bugs first, then deal with PC bugs, and while doing so made even more bugs than before.
But the game itself was still so enjoyable and fun that most players just brushed these off as 'growing pains', as they should have.
Then Arrowhead got a stick up their asses and thought it'd be HILARIOUS to buff the shit out of enemies, nerf the hell out of Helldiver weapons and stratagems, and this pissed nearly everyone off. Players would either scream "You're making this P2W!" or "Meta builds suck! Make things actually viable!". So they did.
Then the sweaty divers came out of the woodwork when the most powerful of stuff got nerfed into the ground, and nearly everything that wasn't "meta" was buffed, pissing them off.
Then when they found a decent middleground, they shat all over everything again with the introduction of squids.
Back and forth, back and forth, blahblahblah.
They've been yo-yoing between making things work, breaking them, buffing them back up, and then breaking them again.
That's only the tip of the iceberg though.
>>712708920 (OP)I'm sure someone's mentioned it ITT but Arrowhead fucked up spawning and never went back to fix it.
There were a lot of complaints about patrols spawning out of thin air directly on top of players.
This is because Arrowhead, for some reason, never planned on players ever splitting up. The game merely dropped new spawns 100m out from a player without checking to see if that space was occupied by another player or not.
The band-aid solution was to give all players an a spawn nullifying bubble of 100m. Then, they changed the spawn system so that when extract is available, enemies only spawn in the direction of the closest base to extract. If there's no bases left, they spawn at least 100 meters out in the direction of the closest map border to extract.
HOWEVER, nearly every single mission will randomly generate the extraction zone at a map border, causing the anti-spawn bubble to just completely prevent spawns as soon as the players arrive.
So what's the obvious solution?
JUST MAKE EXTRACT FOLLOW THE SAME ENEMY SPAWNING LOGIC AS FLAG MISSIONS FOR FUCK'S SAKE
>>712746928And now the game isn't remotely challenging and we have 10 difficulties for no reason.
The game could use more sandbox stuff to fool around with on top of fixing patrols.
>>712749886every extract should be the center of a map anyway

The game has 10 fucking difficulty levels for you to choose from. The "LE SWEATY CATERING" screeching from retards like yourself is unironically a case of shitters not wanting to stay in their lane. Like I wouldn't play an MMO, refuse to learn how to do hard mode raid content, then complain I didn't have the achievements for not completing the hard mode raids because they're too hard. For some reason HD2 attracts this ridiculous type of person who wants the difficulty level(s) advertised as extremely difficult to be accessible for everyone.
The game was cratering in population because the devs kept nerfing the only viable equipment options while showcasing on their dev streams that they didn't even know how their own game worked. They thought the railgun was overpowered because it could "one shot bile titans" even though that was caused by a bug with console players. They didn't fix sniper rifle scopes for half a year.
>>712748760>explosive crossbow>EXPLOSIVE crossbowLast I checked explosions aren't exactly quiet.
>>712748447The game has a major identity crisis. The playerbase doesn't know if it wants to be power fantasy or a survival horror movie.

>>712758858I would have to say an entire mission, but that would be "technically" be wrong.
Since Super Helldive was released, me and a core group of my friends who have played together have just as often as not survived an entire mission together, but the truly rare ones are when all of us survived the entire mission.
Ever since we have gotten that decent at the game, if we ever have a mission where extract is at the edge of a map and waiting for the pelican becomes a bore, we generally just TK each other in increasingly goofy ways or test test out shit we've never really had the time to just mess with. We were by no means the first to figure out that placing something on top of an unfolding AT Emplacement will get it launched a quarter of the map away, but that's how we found out that it could be done before we saw videos springing up about that exact thing happening.
If we didn't have our little 'deathmatches' at the end of a particularly boring extract, I dare say that we could go and survive for two missions, or possibly an entire operation given that luck were on our side.
But like I said, those kinds of missions happen as often as they fail, so I can only guess as to how far we could go. But through an entire mission where none of us die? It's practically been done before many times if you don't count us shooting each other for a cheap laugh.

I want to love this game, but I just can't, it's just missing something
The wrapping is fantastic, the humor's great, the foundation of the gameplay is pretty good (physics could use some updating tho, the way enemies interact with the environment and especially buildings/broken buildings is fucking painful, seeing the floating bozos or the zombies go up and down at 40g depending on how low the ground is under their feet while you're trying to shoot them is frustrating to say the least)
Or maybe I just got spoiled with EDF, I just wish movement was faster (or at least, you had the potential to go faster), the jetpack is too weak, half the weapons in the game feel pretty much pointless because of how underwhelming they are, why the fuck is the pump action so fucking weak? why does it feel like the basic pistol outperforms it? (and because it actually fucking does)
Also melee weapons are too underwhelming, on one hand I understand that they were added as a meme, but why not make them worthwhile? They're already so risky to use, but they're not worth using against anything than the most basic of fodder (but for those, the butt of your gun is doing just fine so why 'waste' a secondary slot on it)
Give me more sci fi shit, give me intergalactic civilization-level swords, give me a way to airdrop specific gear/weapons to be able to switch my gear when on the ground too, it's painful starting a map not realizing nobody else is going to bring in any explosives and having to deal with 5 titans in a row
It kinds of feel like playing an early access game, from a design perspective (because the budget was clearly there), also they should FIX THEIR FUCKING SERVERS, worse yet, fucking drop the retarded 10minute stat screens, the 5minute animations, why not allow us to get to the next mission directly without having to go back to the destroyer?
Why not keeping us in the game when someone loses connection, and reconnect five seconds later, instead of being sent back too, holy ff

>>712769180I'm more surprised people aren't playing Pred bugs on D10, they constantly spawn behind you during engagements, came into a mission with zero reinforcements and got fucked because of the constant patrols just spawning to your left and right just trying to get to objectives, or so many sub-objectives now spawning surrounded by thigh/waist high water so you're completely fucked if it's the larvae baby.

>>712749381Most important tidbit to remember is the devs admitting they didn't actually test the game at the highest difficulty. They had no idea why people were running railguns over the pitifully weak (at the time) anti-tank weapons and inconsistent-damage strategems.
Does anyone know how the megacities work? Are they only available at certain liberation levels per planet, and do bots have them?

>>712779534Eh, Bile Titans have broken head hitboxes, especially since hitting them in the mouth was supposed to allow you to do full damage didn't work because of the animation.
>>712779534Yeah the single shot weapon not being able to kill a charger was strong, so you had to use 2 and another charger or bile would spawn before you got it back, that was great balance
>>712715653god, why haven't those retards added the stratagem launcher module from the HD1 mechas back yet?
>>712779824I remember shooting them in the leg and then they fell over in a couple of shots. Assisted reload was able to deal with multiple chargers. The bile titans did have shitty head hit boxes though.
>>712778095Some planets will have them, and losing a megacity will contribute massively towards losing a planet, whereas saving one will contribute massively towards liberating it or something. I think just losing them means you jump automatically forward as to whatever the big line has blips at.
Bot cities aren't out yet, bugs are the new one right now.
>>712772550Soon, they're planning on adding them to personal/major orders since they've realized that as players have levelled up they've stopped going out of their way for drops which just fucks over new players.
>>712767571The Punisher is still an amazing weapon, it's always been extremely good since release because stagger is and never will be a joke. One pellet is enough to stagger devastators/big bugs, and the stagger time means you can keep up to 3 stunlocked as you chunk them down or hit them in the head. The choke makes this more efficient, as well. Chokeless, still fucking amazing because the spread allows you to hit and stun more shit. You should be thankful a game gave you a useful sidearm for once, as well, because the vanilla secondary deserves a spot in the hall of fame.
>>712772090I haven't used the slugger in a long while but I'll still disagree because buckshot is more fun and hits more enemies, you just keep shooting until the weakpoint explodes
shotguns are for punishing enemies with stun and stagger and shoving them back and using slugs removes your crowd control

>>712784728never happening, this is just hackers messing with files
>>712785914I think part of the problem is when you're spectating, even if it's on someone who is inside the jammer's range, it won't have the stratagem block with static, so if you're just being an impatient dick and not paying attention you don't realize they're in a situation where they can't call in more reinforcements. Which reminds me of the time I was doing a Blitz and had 2 stratagem jammers right next to 2 fucking gunship fabs. Now that's pain in the ass to deal with.
>>712784086Balance blindness is a real vidya phenomena. >>712794249You use the right tool for the job. The enemies specifically up armor themselves to counter what you want to use. You want to crack a tank, you bring a tankbuster. Complaining you can't use your magic girl sparkle beam is just stupid
>>712794569nah fuck you the one true flag should oneshot harvesters and leviathans

Just got my SICK ASS d10 tattoo bros. It's super-extra-sick-nasty. In case some of you don't know it's a "difficulty 10" tattoo to show my dedication to ONLY playing on that difficulty. Which is where the game actually kinda starts to be SLIGHTLY challenging for someone like me. If you are having any sort of doubts or feeling any criticism towards the game, just remember playing on d10 LITERALLY fixes everything.
Thats all for now, gonna go make some sweet HD2 tiktok videos!
P.S. should I start using a tripcode so you guys know who you are speaking to?
>>712708920 (OP)it's free real teamkilleastate
>>712709270the liberation contribution increase is marginal
>>712709294you can exit as soon as the pelican takes off. i also rarely see the beginning brief and launch either, thanks to quickplay.
>>712794931This. Right at 2:15 is what starts playing when everyone gets in the hellpods to pick landing sites and stratagems
>>712736004The spawns on the early extraction missions were making defence campaigns outright impossible. Do you have any idea how many planets we lost because of that shit?
>>712708920 (OP)Wait until you have 1 gorillion enemies nigger
I prefer chill extractions
>>712709109I hate the ragdoll mechanic but the redpill is to just eat those deaths
Nothing you can do about it
You are nobody so git gut faggot or stfu
>>712795856 kek I've seen more casualties from buddies trying to "help" during extraction than from the actual bugsโespecially when someone throws a Hellbomb at the shuttle for fun or drops a RECOILLESS into the AO like it's bowling night. Extraction turning into a teamkill fiesta is just a Helldiver tradition at this point.
>>712792257Not relevant to what I said retardbro. Still not getting catered to.
Well, lads, it was a good thread for once.
