We know, in chapter 3, that darkners are objects. Ralsei himself claims to be a darkner, so if we choose to believe him, he has to be an object in the light world. Now, theres a big mystery on what the fuck is ralsei, with people theorizing on him being kris' toy horns, crayons and all sorta stuff. however...

In chapter 4, we see a sprite of ralsei with his face dirty with blood, after susie injuries herself and fucking wipes it off on him. Because of this, we now know that ralsei's fur can absorb blood to some extent.

Heres the deal: Ralsei is frequently described as being fluffy, and even in death he turns into a pile of floof. One of the fluffiest things aroud is cotton. And cotton is commonly used to clean absorb liquid, including blood. Because of this, tampons are frequently made of cotton, due to it's blood absorbing properties.

If we consider that whatever object ralsei is is made of cotton, and that he is aways present in the dark worlds that kris is in, we can assume that somehow kris is carrying ralsei around with them. And one of the only reasons one would carry around cotton everywhere, is in the form of tampons.

This theory confirms that kris is afab, potentually on their period during the events of the game, ralsei is a tampon, and is being carried around by kris.

Wether or not you think kris has ralsei in their pocket or is actively using ralsei during the game is up to you.

So, who exactly could possibly fulfill the roles of the church prophecy? Still too ambiguous for me.
First hero is still clearly limited to Kris and/or (you)r vessel, as the human soul is instrumental in dispelling the darkness. Third hero becomes a bit vaguer, "alone in deepest dark" doesn't actually require a darkner, but then where the fuck would you get a prince in the light world.
The next misdirection is conflating "the second hero" and "at last, the girl". One would surely put Susie and Noelle in either place, if only because they are the only relevant girls.

This whole prophecy thing is fucking me up, I just can't make sense of it? Are we following it? Presumably we are given what Ralsei says, but are we going to defy it, and we are going to defy it, when will that happen, the normal route? The snowgrave route?

Actually, there is a bigger question, are we going to be able to defy it in the first place, Ralsei seems to point to a potentially worst outcome in the case of defying the prophecy, but let's go one step further and talk about things outside of the game itself. Toby has mentioned the game only has one ending, but this is a bit problematic, sometime he says it adamantly, and sometimes, he seems to be saying it, but not really, the steam description literally says "... only 1 ending...?" which could easily be interpreted as there actually being more than one ending. And anyway, what even will be this 1 ending? The easy assumption would be that the prophecy gets fulfilled, but maybe, actually, the prophecy does NOT get fulfilled, no matter what, and that's the ONE ending who knows though.

Then there's also Toby saying (I'm paraphrasing)"there's something more important than reaching the end", what does this mean? The first thing that comes to mind is something like, for example, an Undertale where the Neutral route was the ONLY route, of course, the game always ends the same, Frisk gets out of the Underground, the barrier stays in place, but depending on what you've done, the Underground can be left in all kinds of state, with the extremes either being more or less stable and in a bit of a better place than it was at the beginning of the game, like in the neutral-pacifist route, or in complete disarray, in the neutral-violent/genocide route. Maybe that's what it means, the ending is the same, you get out of the Underground, but your actions have left the state of the world you're in in a much different state than it was before. Perhaps this will be what happens with Deltarune too.

Gerson as a whole is the biggest wrench in all my attempts of building a coherent theory. The best way I can shove in his dialogue in something similar to what you've said though not exactly the same, what I think is, we're not exactly gonna subvert the prophecy, but we are somehow going to twist it as much as possible to mitigate whatever negative impacts its fulfillment we do things right. Of course this is assuming the "one ending" thing is true, and the one ending is the fulfillment of the prophecy. If there's actually more than one ending, or the one ending is the subvertion of the prophecy no matter what, then I frankly I don't know what's gonna happen.

As for the time loop, I have no idea about that, I cannot wrap my head around it, so it's something I've stopped thinking about it.

Jevil's devilsknife attack is probably the hardest attack to avoid in the game while he's probably going to do it 3-4 times a battle. Spamton's Phones for Hands and Gerson's Axes are only twice in a battle, and the Knight's slashes fucking up the box's dimensions seems RNG so you might not even have to dodge his hardest attack and it's only the upgraded version that's hard.

Asgore is the one kidnapping people to the shelter.

>normal ending: The roaring is stopped thanks to (You)r determination combined with Susie derailing the prophecy. The dark worlds are sealed forever and we say goodbye to Ralsei and everyone else, knowing that they will still be with us in the dark. Then once all is well the Angel's Heaven is banished, which involves Kris waving us goodbye as the game Alt+F4's. Getting all the Shadow Crystals will do something gay like resurrecting Dess. Collecting all of the eggs does something really gay like giving Kris some actual dialog before (You) leave.
