Technically you can hatewatch without helping their numbers. The issue is you have to shut up about it. Watch it, don't like it, keep quiet about not liking it. The only REAL way to hurt companies that do shit like this is sadly you have to buy their streaming product, watch the show for 10 mins, then turn it off. This way their system gets a note that you watched it and turned it off. Telling them it is bad. NOT watching it just means 'you were the intended audience' and they don't care. But watching shows you were interested but quitting after 10 mins of episode 1 shows that you didn't like it. Of course this requires tens of thousands of people to do it, so it is only actually effective if people actually do it and it's pretty difficult to actually get people to understand how this works and get them to do it if they 'hate the show'. DMC is effectively in-name-only, like some incomprehensibly retarded misinterpretation of everything. Dante is a dork that only knows pop culture references and tries to be manly but has no idea how to socialize, Lady turned into a swearing bitch of a cop that says fuck every other sentence, the greater plot effectively became a George W. Bush parody/denouement criticizing and using the imagery and controversy of the War on Terror, Demons turn out to be dindu nuffin who are just divergent humans stuck in a shitty dimension they adapted to survive in, which retroactively ruins the entire point of Sparda, and all sorts of other weird shit. It's like Adi watched a Let's Play of the Donte DmC game and decided to apply that to his adaptation but with surface level references to the original games on top.

And the DMC series references Resident Evil a couple times, he's definitely trying to get his hands on adapting as many things as he can possibly get so he can slather his dick over everything.
