1. They include a "best buy" date when support may get pulled
2. They release a patch or update that enables players to keep the game going on private servers

The issue is that the government made competition illegal. Mutual aid organizations that provided medical care for their dues were BETTER and CHEAPER then what hospitals could provide, then the hospitals lobbied for them to be made illegal, and they were made so.
