Ever since i started having a decent amount of disposable income Steam sales have lost all meaning to me. The games that i like are already so few and far between that i just buy them when they come out and i have literally nothing that i want to play that is already on the market.

have you played any other Eugen games? i think it's pretty fun, but i only played 10v10s with a steam friend before he quit. the balance is decent in the lower player gamemodes (1v1, 2v2, 3v3) but as you get to 4v4 and 10v10 it tilts toward PACT heavily. i still enjoyed playing 10v10 as a NATO fan, but you typically won't win and just have to enjoy yourself.

I played the Robocop demo back when it released, it's pretty fun. You get all these skills and stuff to kinda spec into a role of detective or just flat out "fuck you I'm shooting up the place" role. It kinda reminded me of Deus Ex Human Revolution

You can't really customize your mech, and it's a heavy grind game almost on tier with a gatcha; plus losing your shit is devastating. Plus Devs are retarded in addressing issues. Based on how shit the reviews are now I wouldn't be surprised if the game flops soon.

WARNO doesnt really have that. they have something called army general which is a risk/total war style map where you move around divisions on an operational map then fight skirmishes with the units you moved there. they do have some scenarios but they're isolated skirmishes with no overarching campaign to it as far as i know.
if you're looking for a cold-war game with scripted campaign missions, you might look at Regiments which i hear good things about but is pretty tough or Broken Arrow which is VERY tough and isn't really well balanced at this point in time.
Steel Division Normandy 44 is ww2 and smaller scale, but the campaign is nice imo.

I've always wanted to play the Blops campaign, I dropped off the series after 5 but heard good things about it, but am I fuck paying £15 for a game from 2010.

Movement is definitely better but that's the only pure positive.
The weapons are very boring and uninspired, which is just further proof Insomniac has long since ran out of ideas for them. Too many weapons are based on old ones aswell

The game reuses the same enemies and minibosses way too much. Yes, the point of the game is nuNefarious has taken over the galaxy but fighting the same enemies on every single planet gets boring very fast. The "bad guy has taken over" trope has been used many times in the series yet enemy variety has always been very varied but not in RA.
R&C always has a diverse amount of enemy types to fight even when Insomniac started reusing many attacks and attack patterns.
You fight that basic, boring Juggernaut miniboss way too many times throughout the game and it's the exact same simple fight every time. The normal Nefarious drones are also everywhere.
If Insomniac wanted to make this one faction the core enemy type, then they should have made a ton of enemy types and different minibosses instead of all this constant reuse of the same handful

Gameplay-wise, Rivet is irrelevant as a character since she's just a copy-paste of Ratchet, there's nothing about her that makes her unique which makes the character swap meaningless as the only reason to care for Rivet is that you want to fuck R63 Ratchet.

Story is awful and forgettable but anons already mentioned that. Music is forgettable but this' true for every post-PS2 Ratchet aside from some ACiT songs I remember

RA feels like half an R&C game. The best post-PS2 R&C game is ACiT and honestly, I'd rather play Nexus over RA too

Certified /hdg/ fag with 500 hours here. I'd say for the price it's worth it; the only issue you may run into is the warbonds. Warbonds are essentially battlepasses that don't expire and give you extra shit like guns and armor. They cost super credits, which are a type of currency.
You can get super credits in game pretty easily, you just gotta look around the map for them. A warbond cost 1000 and you can earn 10 and sometimes rarely 100 after visiting locations and picking them up. There's a mod out there that makes this easier, or you can just pay like $10 for the SC. You also earn SC from the warbond, so you can use that to unlock more warbonds faster, and these unlocks are much more than the drops.
None are "required" but I'd recommend you get the supercitizen edition which gives you one of the best warbonds for free along with the game and some free shit.
Also game is very much alive, despite how much we hate Swedes at /hdg/. Plus you can join lobbies set up by other Anons.
Game is pretty fun with a solid gameplay loop and it's a lot of fun with Anons too

Forgotten Relics has new weapons, people don't like having to pay for the weapons but they're pretty much all good and fun to use, I really like the trollhammer torpedo

Winds of Magic has:
- Weaves which suck ass and are pretty much dead content
- Access to the highest difficulty in the game
- Weapons which are less good than the ones in Forgotten Relics
- A single level which is just okay
- Beatmen will get added to all maps randomly (some people don't like it, I like the increased enemy variety)
Kinda not worth it even on sale unless you're super into the game

Career DLCs are all good if the look of the specific new career seems appealing to you, I like them all

Its got the whole beautiful horror thing going, where NYC in the middle of winter where holiday decorations still abound is awesome, and in one sense, being able to experience all of it without any hustle/bustle of the city is great

The mastery system is very cool. There are hundreds of these buffs, some simple stat boosts, some conditionals, some procs, some are familiar xcom abilities, like Overwatch or Lightning Reflexes. Each character has a few classes, each class has unique masteries that make up the backbone of the class. And then there are a ton of sets of masteries, that give all new effects on top of that. Slowly building up your library and refining your squad before every mission is very satisfying.

Ground Control 2 has a pretty good campaign with real characters, but as far as RTSs go it's a weird one in the genre because it has no basebuilding: You just buy units to be airdropped onto the battlefield with points that accumulate from map control. For me that's a plus because it means you focus more on the actual strategy instead of build orders, and it teaches you indirectly about the importance of map control and greedy play that translates well to other RTSs.
Also it's cheap as fuck.

When I played Numen many, many years ago, there was a gamebreaking bug with the main quest that happens when you explore zones in the wrong order. I don't really remember the details, just that it was related to a witch or something. You might find more details in old games forums. Other than that, the game was fun enough for me to actually restart from scratch after I was affected by the bug.
I don't know if this was ever fixed, though I doubt it.

You also have to be careful with the valuables instead of being a baby that uses a bag mod to shove the entire facility's items into your pocket. It's far weaker than Nier Automata, which is a 8 years old game that was already weak in the gameplay department.
I was hyped for this game because I thought there would be good boss fights. But 99% of them are just: avoid the red circle on the ground. That's it.

That's why I can't recommend this game at all, especially for non fans. This game could have been way better with little investment from the devs I feel like. But they went the easy way.
You finish the story in 10-15h, then the game just makes you fight against the same bosses in multiple colors to grind for nothing, since the game is basically dead. Though, when I played, there were too many cheaters who injected themselves gears and other stuff, so...

Can it be fun? yeah but I'd say only for fans.
