7.Open up the Project Sugar Cake compress file, open up the STEAM folder, and drop the Logicmods and ~mods folder into the Paks Folder
8.Drop in any animation or model pack. Be sure to read their readme/instruction where to drop them
9.Go to the Palworld\Pal\Content\Paks\~mods\AnimJSON and double click __Create_Load_List__ batch file
10.Log into your game and check if its activiated
11.Bring in the Pals you wanna with into your party/summon them somewhere that they wont run off
12.Now lets get familar with the UIpalui

If that's not your thing then you can explore the map to look for the Ubisoft towers, they have boss fights in them.

I haven't played since release and decided to start a new file from scratch, there is a bunch of new nice stuff, dungeons are worth doing, random meteorite and supplies when exploring, an incentive to kill bosses, an incentive to capture a fuck ton of pals, research autism, nice new pals, QoL, fishing, more comfortable ways to get resources, NPC quests, enemy basses, I even met a pal tamer (who I accidentally headshot with my rifle and killed, when I was supposed to beat her pals instead, it even showed the criminal activity message, oops)

Truly a fresh and improved experience.

In the custom settings what exactly does "Damage From/To Pal" and "Damage From/To Player" do? I'm assuming the Player modifier changes how much damage you personally deal/tal but the Pal modifier isn't quite as clear. Is this our Pals? Wild Pals?

Your armour and shield are what matter most, and don't bother with putting points in health. The Terraria dungeon has two crystal hearts that respawn (and follow your world's Gatherable Objects settings) that you can use to increase it a lot. I'm not sure what the limit is on them, if there is one.

I've run through the game a couple times before in older patches, and I've always felt that level progression feels way off, that you get too many levels in the beginning (so you're outleveled areas before you get a chance to explore them) and there was a drag where things slowed down towards late game. Anyone have custom settings recommendations to remedy these problems?

Unfortunately, besides adjusting your rates mid playthrough, I haven't found an elegant solution.
Usually I just set it to 2, 2.5x, accept the early overlevelling, and use it to blitz past the early game and bootstrap into midgame.

Least popular is synonomous with most forgettable, which Surfent Terra absolutely is. Surfent itself has a decent first impression as a middling quality pal, but then you see Jormuntide and probably never really see Surfent the same way.

I think a couple good contenders for most hated are Cinnamoth and Galeclaw, just because they're bastards, completely independent of design. Getting jumped by a Galeclaw out of nowhere, who aggros your entire base, stressing them out, and pulling a pack of Cinnamoth haunts my dreams.
Verdash is a contender, mostly because it stands as one of the poster children of being literally a pokemon.
Maybe Mammorest, because I think there is a shared, universal experience of seeing that Mammorest boss presented as the coolest shit ever, then finally catching it, and then it's kinda dogshit.
Maybe Fuack. I have no idea why, but I have seen more wanton violence, cruelty, and blatant disregard for the existence of Fuack in practice than I think any other, even if I've never actually heard anyone say they don't like it.

I just had a funny thought, maybe someone can confirm or correct me.
I was thinking about all the different animations pals have, and came to the conclusion I think Astegon might have the fewest animations in the game.
If there's a thing that can go wrong for reducing the animations a pal has, it applies to Astegon.
Astegon is a "bird", so no jumping, landing, swimming, ect animations.
Not *actually* a bird, so doesn't really have the various transition animations the actual birds do to land. It just kinda... floats.
Astegon has nearly as few work suitabiliies as a pal can have, only having mining and handiwork.
It's definitely not a swimmer, so no fishing.
Not a glider, so no (unused) glide animation.
Astegon has no unique attack, and its unique skill is just mounting with the mining boost.
I haven't checked, I'm away now, but I seriously doubt Astegon of all pals got a sleeping together animation.
And then I seem to recall Astegon using an attack animation to mine as well, but that could be from a long ass time ago/misremembering.
I'm almost assuredly not remembering every single pal who also is pretty fucked by all the things that can go wrong, but

It's just as bad in Palworld, but seeing as the previous weapon I was using was the bog standard katana, it's a significant upgrade.
The sword does 4 different bits of damage. The hit from the sword, and then three-four hits from the bouncing cat head it shoots out. If you're close enough, it can multi-hit the same target. That's what makes it good for mining.

i've desperately tried to fix it with just about every solution both i and chatgpt could come up with - using file integrity checks, rolling back the world using backups, trying to 'synchronise' the mission log between host and client...

im at a loss. it seems i still get achievements, however, im afraid the mission log has stopped logging any missions past the first tower being completed. i had completed more, but, those have been lost.

once, it would show the eikthyrdeer terra quest temporarily, before breaking again, using backups.

at this point i dont know if i want to just finish this broken playthrough, and get a significantly worse experience, and quite likely, lose out on some PVP access, and storyline - or invest another 100 hours, both me and my friend, into playing all the way up to this point again.

is there no way i can... delete my co-op character, and maybe start over? so only it would only be me investing another 100 hours to get back to 45?
i have some hope that if i make a fresh character, then perhaps the mission progression might function. reading reddit and other forums about it, it would seem they have had some success.

i've reported it through their in-game issue tracker as they say they prefer. it is clear that i am not the only one with this issue, it appears to be an issue on clients of co-op sessions, that have data from before the most recent terraria patch. there are also users on reddit reporting the same issues, across multiple platforms.

yes, this will likely only be truly resolved through a patch - but how long are we expected to wait for that? whats the typical turnaround on a hotfix from pocketpair? a month?
and thats assuming there will even be a hotfix, instead of it just being included in whatever next major patch they had planned.

I'd have more faith in the bug report form if they acknowledged unresolved issues publicly or at a minimum described which "minor bugs" were being fixed in patch notes. There are things that haven't been addressed since launch, and I'm not certain where their priorities lie.

Not a perfect solution or anything, but you can tuck all your shit and gear into a box in your friend's base, and back up any important pals in the global box. Make sure to include a nitewing so you don't have to track another down. You'd still be at level 1, but, if you turn up EXP gain to like 3x, with access to pals and resources you can probably be at level 30 within an hour.
I don't know how to "delete" your progress in another person's world though and start fresh.

No, it's just that I feel like devs shouldn't be given the easy way out. They should either make the good armour look better or make every armour look the same.
Transmog and vanity slots are a sign of the development team giving up and ignoring the problem by making it something the players can choose to "fix" themselves.

Surfent is actually the third fastest in the water, only beaten by Jormuntard and Neptilius. Being easy to catch means you can easily catch a bunch of them until you find one with Ace Swimmer, making it even faster.
Surfent Terra doesn't have anything going for it, though. I wonder if the devs will give it some love from it being the most unliked and unhelpful Pal or if it will just stay that way forever, being forgotten.

I haven't played since release, do you still need legendaries with mimaxed traits to take on the endgame? Or can you still progress with Pals you actually like?
