FFXIV's RP community was always running on borrowed time because it was basically just text RP in houses or Ul'dah, rather than people living in-character out in the world. It's really hard to just log in and roleplay during roulettes or the MSQ, you know? Nobody was out in the world just doing things so you could encounter them and start something natural, it was all "yeah let's schedule a meeting at 5:00 in my apartment and then we'll do X, Y, and Z". In 14 healing magic naturally expedites the body's healing and can soothe pain. it won't regrow limbs, replace lost blood, replace eyes, etc.

When you're 'dead' in FFXIV by falling in combat you're unconscious and your soul is starting to lose its tether to your body. the Raise spell and its sister spells in other schools of healing jolts the soul back into the body and you wake up, weakened.

In Warcraft healing magic is the healing imposing their will upon creation and altering it to its original state. All schools of healing magic function the same way, but it has a different source. The holy light, the elemental spirits, nature, and even the shadows can be used to heal. In Warcraft healing is on the level of divine will, i.e. miracle based. I'm not sure if you can regrow limbs but you can reattach them. It operates outside the natural healing of the body and moves into an alteration of reality.

In Warcraft when you lose all your HP in battle you are Dead, not ko'd. Dead dead. Resurrection magic is exactly that, forcing the detached soul back into the body.

in short, in XIV if you're crippled you're crippled. In Warcraft you need to find a sufficiently powerful healer.

Khadgar's predicament is retarded because there's no way in hell he doesn't have several powerful healers in his immediate social circle. Anduin Wrynn brought an entire army back from the dead with one spell. While his powers are stunted atm from his crisis of faith, fixing Khadgar's legs should be possible for him, let alone the druids, shamans, priests and paladins the Kirin Tor would have contact with

Prosthetics were a tightly kept secret by the Garlean government because the commissioning of the installation and repair of prosthetics to neutral nations like Thavnair or Hingashi was an export for them. Magitek is also bulky, unwieldy, expensive, and uses an expensive fuel that can explode if you jostle it too roughly. It's not a practical solution and you'd basically be burdening the poor guy even harder by cutting his legs off and attaching giant metal shoes that he has to fill up at the gas station every week.

I've been on Balmung since Heavensward, and the 'real' RPers only decided to move shop over to Mateus after the flood gates of DC travel opened up. Part of why I can't stand serious RP types. It's not non-existent, but you're not going to be walking into the QS on a random day and see a couple of people doing public RP, or go into the back alleyway and see some group talking shit to each other very often. I don't think I've seen any public RP at all in Ul'dah since Shadowbringers.

EW Studium’s quests talks about a world serpent consuming everything.
DT’s cactuar dungeon has a serpent that’s much larger than the First’s serpent. And has a whole lore cutscene about how the serpent exists between worlds.
My theory is that there was a serpent/Ouroboros inside the planet that was unknowingly sundered that Azem knew about. His symbol is similar tot eh Ouroboros symbol too

In general, the 7.2 changes to most post-ARR zones feel less intense than the 7.1 changes to ARR zones. With a few exceptions, the 7.1 update to ARR zones really made that stuff look good. From the foliage, to the ground textures, to the trees, to the cliff face and rock textures.
7.2 didn't really fix the weird look of the old pre-DT mountains for HW/SB/ShB/EW zones like 7.1 did for ARR zones. They do look better, just not to the same extent. So I hope they're still working on it more. Lakeland still has probably the ugliest fucking mountains the game has to offer.

tried to find the in game equivalent of that concept art, but it just doesn't exist. the entire layout/composition and parts of the design changed. There is an island to the right of it the way there is in the concept art, and there's a tether leading to it, too, but the design is different. The island on the concept art looks more like the island where Tiamat was held with all the water.
Also no tethers at the points the picture was taken from.

There is zero contrast here.Where is my eye supposed to even be looking here? What is even noteworthy in this area? Maybe if the ruined building in the center (where Hraesvalgr resides) glowed a bright color that contrasted with the sky it'd look beauitiful, but it just fades into the rest of the foreground as it is.
