Early 30s and doing just fine. Just bought a PS5 and Astro Bot was great. Probably going to play Returnal or Clair Obscur next. Otherwise it's a bunch of PC turn based strategy games. At this point I can't play a single player campaign if it's over 20 hours long. I don't have the attention span nor do I want to commit to that. I will probably break this rule with Clair but I hear it's not an overly long RPG

Seriously, why are there so many old people here? I always assumed that most of the posters here would be between the ages of 18-21. I'm 19 and if I saw myself posting past the age of 21 I would kill myself, so I can't imagine all these guys in their mid 20s and 30s using this website and feeling okay about it.

I remember writing a post like this back when I was around 22. I saw all these 30 and 40+ year olds posting and I remember thinking how pathetic they were. Fast forward - now I'm 34 and still here.
It happens faster than you think. You'll follow the same path if you don't leave now, but I have a feeling you won't and one day you'll be just like me, but responding to a gen alpha who thinks your cringe for still posting here.

I caught lyme disease in a state that has 10 cases a year. I was cured of it because my mom wouldn't stop bugging me about the bulleyes rash and I went to see a doctor about it

my 3 year old niece kicked me in the eye and gave me a detached retina

I was in a car accident that caused the aneurysm my neck to get worse and also cause eye symptoms that had nothing to do with getting kicked in the eye. my aneurysm doctors won't listen to me because of the earlier coincidence with getting kicked in the eye

looking forward to DK bananza

Had fun with balatro and did a lot of the challenges, real fun to do for 5 minutes during work on my steam deck. Finishing a skyrim run and then seeing what I do next. Got into Blue Archive, nice casual gacha I can pop in for 10 minutes. Don't see myself sticking with it for long but scratches an itch.

Been in the blue collar scene for a few years. Broken backs, pain meds, guys sometimes making money hand over fist and just burning it away on benders, strip clubs, poppers, meth, crack, viagara and whatever a good connection will get you. They hook up with some troubled succubus and get stuck with her. They have depression, they just hide it. They have anxiety like anyone else. Some of them cover their anxieties in neurotic, frustrating behavior and some gain anxiety from the work or the fuck ups they did.

Agreed. He's not a smart guy. Can't even get someone to work under him because "no one wants to work". Everyone else can but he can't. He's stuck in the whole mindset of working involving you being in site, shaking hands, waiting 4 hours for the boss to give you the next instructions.

Its an interesting world, but its weakness is that it blue balls you constantly. You go out and do these things like hand over the hub town to a god thinking something will happen but there's absolutely no repercussion. The ending was a mediocre slide deck. Using charisma to skip the fight with the zodiac killer was hamfisted and uncompelling. Summons were a lot of fun but extremely buggy which soured the last bit of the game for me.
It was like an 8/10. Probably a 5/10 if you don't care for the audio and visual design.

>When Julius Caesar was about 33 years old, while visiting a temple in Spain dedicated to Hercules, he encountered a statue of Alexander the Great. Upon seeing the statue and learning Alexander had died at the same age, Caesar reportedly wept. He lamented that Alexander had achieved so much, conquering vast territories by that age, while Caesar felt he had accomplished relatively little. This incident is recorded in Plutarch's Life of Julius Caesar.

Just finished Death Stranding 2. It was kino. Literally; there are a lot of cutscenes at the end, as you should expect from Kojima.
Should I jump into Wukong next, or finally finish Rise of the Ronin, which I put on hold when Stellar Blade came out last year?

Sleep well. Bed at 9 up at 5.
If you can't do anything else, do just that.
Exercise if you don't already. It gets harder the older you get.

Anxiety lives rent free in your head. Good sleep and exercise will kick it to the curb.

I used to like Pokemon so all these creature collector games coming out now Palworld paved the way makes me happy. As a fan of these games we're/going to be eating good so I look forward to some of them. I don't like playing as much as I use to; maybe an hour at most then I start getting bored but I made my peace with it. Indies make me feel like I'm back in the PS1/Xbox days when we had boat loads of AA titles mixed in with the usual big stuff so I throw money at Kickstarters and buy Indies more these days. Keeping my eye on some RTS's but I'm still waiting for a RPG that pulls me in big time. Staying positive.

The one piece of advice that no one will give you, but you figure out later after it's too late to use it is that in order to succeed in life, you cannot be yourself, es-fucking-pecially if you're the type of person that gravitates to 4chan. You build a fake persona and conduct yourself by it till you make it, but if you do it's still gonna fuck you up at the end because you'll have spent your life screaming in the prison of your own mind.

There's no real victory to be had here, you compromise and suffer for it, or you don't and you suffer for it. You heard that phrase "pick your poison"? It goes for what kind of life you want to live.

You're going to move forward in life whether you want to or not. Things will inevitably change and you'll likely reach a point where you find yourself grieving your past self and the life you used to live.
Don't lament it too much. Just deal with the despair when it comes and hopefully you'll be strong enough to adapt to it.
Most of the time, things don't end up being as bad as we imagine in our heads.

I agree on seeing athletes, knowing how young they are, and getting discouraged from that. Especially when you're in your 20s and see others in their 20s in pro sports, so that period was rough. I still love watching sports though, so I haven't given up on that at all.

As far as video games though, Starfield is basically my swan song game. I really do love this game and it's likely going to be the last current generation I buy for a very long while. There's not really anything I'm looking forward to and now that Nintendo is basically finished being the innovator company, I have almost no interest in current generation gaming. Although Rhythm Heaven Fever is going to basically be my "OVA".

37 year old boomer here, I'm pretty happy. It's not a life that many would consider traditionally fulfilling and happy, I have no kids, no gf, no friends in the vicinity of my place, work a pretty soulcrushing job, but I stay positive and enjoy the little things in life. The older you get, the more you realize that this is all there is to life, and that the true meaning of it is the eternal seek of ephemeral happiness.

Only those willing to grind at the happiness mine and endure the hardships that it conveys will live long enough to see their body slowly decay until the pain overrides all traces of happiness, and they will all be lost in time, like tears in rain.

Regardless whether you've concentrated for hours on work or school, you need to mentally regenerate for a bit, before concentrating on something else (most good video games are heavy on your concentration). The problem now is, that you aren't done with the day early after and ready to play 2 hours later, you're done with the day just 4 hours before heading to bed. So there's AT BEST 2 hours of real free time there. And, at least from my perspective, that's such a short time frame, that it's hard to really immerse into a game. You almost anticipate being taken out of it prematurely, if you start at all. So you don't start.

Not compensating. I've dated a few people. Hated it, hated them. Might get married someday out of societal obligation, but outside of that I'm not really interested. My mother and father were much the same way. Didn't like me, and I didn't like them. But they needed someone to carry on in the tradition and I'm what they got.

OLED technology is a good example. I've read about it in the 90s! The articles where raving about paperthin displays with practically zero energy consumption. So what would be the most scifi application? Huge OLED wallpapers of course. We now have 2025. Since a few years the technology is barely good enough to be used in large monitors instead of just handheld-displays. But just 'better' monitors doesn't scream FUTURE for me in the slightest.

I started to like it after 30 hours of playtime when I finally discovered you can enhance armor (and paint them) so all the shit I'm picking up is not worthless. I did a all nighter fighting some half horse niggers in the desert and found a giant horse, was kinda epic ngl. Hated the game till then because the game has like 3 different enemies.

I've been "depressed" since I was 14 or arguably 11. When I was 11 I realized I didn't have the capacity to truly connect with other people, and I determined I would never make a "real friend" because I can't emphasize with others. When I was 14 I decided I'll give myself until 25 to see if I might learn the secret to enjoying life, and if not I'd kill myself. A few months before turning 25 I realized my time was coming up, that I never learned what I meant to find out, and that I was in a worse place than I took for granted at 14, since I at least assumed I'd have a real career and my own place, instead of living with my parents and working as a gofer at a law firm. So I pussed out of suicide by coping that "I can't kill myself because I was never alive in the first place."
I don't have many tangible problems like I see people mope about in these threads, like being abused or raised by alcoholics or whatever. I just don't enjoy a lot of things and I don't understand how other people do.
Anyway, video games.

There's no guarantee that your kids will carry on any of your traditions or culture with them. They might end up strongly independent by the time they're older and will just leave you in the dust.
Considering that you hate kids, it could easily end up going that way.
They could also be born disabled and you'll be the one taking care of them till your dying days with no hope of keeping your bloodline going. You could have multiple kids, but that will just fuck you financially and in terms of stress.

Interesting. How do you deal with unusual locations? I live on an island, most places don't deliver to me but we do have a private courier service that gets contracted out to occasionally. Do you ever get orders where its kind of like "uh we can't get there" and what do you do with them?

Here's how this works in my country: 70% of the job postings are fake because they get money from the government to "hire" people (that they don't need and won't actually hire, so they get subsidies for being "understaffed"). 10% of them are just a formality because they're hiring the owner's friend's nephew, so they have to justify it somehow and they tailor the qualifications to exactly what he has. 20% of them are jobs where you will never get paid because you're first either required to do an "internship" or they just accept you and promise pay and don't pay and then fire you and hire another idiot when you start complaining.

depends on a ton of variables,. supply chain management is a crazy thing. those big container ships used in transpacific shipping usually take 25-30 days to cross the ocean from china to the west coast of america. If you need a rush order it can be sent usually by air freight but even then it can be 4-6 days due to things like customs and multiple shipping companies and overland freight being held up by traffic or bad whether.

I never thought I'd see the day I had a backlog. I used to make fun of you guys for it, and here I am. I should be excited! 38 unplayed games ready to be enjoyed. I definitely have the time to play them, my job is a literal walk in the park, for fuck sake. I haven't even played the Ninja Gaiden Ragebound demo yet. Is what I'm experiencing some repressed fear that maybe what I bought wasn't worth the money I spent and I don't want to find out? It's so bizarre.

I'm gonna list the unplayed titles, feel free to tell me what game I should play first, if you've even heard of them.

>Astrolancer, Blazing Chrome, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2, Bot Vice, Bullet Garden, Bytepath, Ex-Zodiac
>Fallen Leaf, Felvidek, G Warrior, Garbanzo Quest, Gunbrella, La-Mulana 2, Lords of Exile, Lost Ruins, Lunistice
>The Messenger, Mirage Feathers, Nidus, Nuclear Throne, Pharaoh Rebirth, Powernaut Decay, Savage Ascent Remix
>Shinobi non Grata, Space Cat, Spirits Abyss, Steel Assault, Super Alloy Rangers, Unsighted, Unworthy, Vacant Kingdom

To add to that, I only described jobs that you don't need to be a brown immigrant to get (they get those directly through agencies working with their home countries, so they don't really appear on listings anyway - agencies which are of course owned by our local political mafia and their families). That's pretty much every job that you can do with no qualifications or various certs and licenses, nothing that requires a PhD or whatever. So I'm permanently locked out of, you know, normal lower/middle class jobs.

Everybody and their dog wants a stay at home sit on your balls tech job but that is just probably not gonna happen for most people, and if it does, you might be waiting literal months to years before that opportunity shows up. That destroys your mental no matter who you are.

I said fuck it and started working in ABA and make 90k after 2 years of learning, training, and passing my exam. I literally NEVER thought I'd work with kids but it is tolerable and kinda easy.

But working on DMC 2, so far after beating DMC 1 I don't understand how/why anyone hates this game. Gameplay wise it's a massive improvement

If you want to make like 30-35$/hr fastest.

Apply to a clinic, they will train you and get your prepared to take your test to become an RBT (the test is easy as fuck I've never heard anyone fail it). Quit the company and work for in-home services because they pay significantly better and you essentially get to pick your own work hours because people are desperate for services.

Now if you want to become a BCBA and make more money I'd suggest you stay at the clinic. But if you just want something with fast growth to making decent tier money with almost no investment than do the first thing I said.

My cousin does this exact job but he has his own private practice he runs out of his home and makes a fuck load because he bills insurance directly. for like over $700 bucks a day for a single kid getting 8 hours of service. Every single day just about. I could never be around an autist for that long, he says it can be very draining back when he was an RBT but apparently when you become a BCBA you barely work with the kids at that point.

My Mom already died and my Dad hates me. He made living with him unbearable, he would get mad if I used the bathroom, he would get mad if I too many trash bags in the trash can, would get mad if I used the kitchen to cook a meal for myself (he didnt like the smell of food)

I finally said enough and said he clearly hates me and I wont be yelled at anymore. I was preparing to live in my car for ~10 months until I can make into the military. But my friend's parents let me stay with them. Its the very last safety net I have before living in my car.

As for video games Im playing Stellar Blade.

Equity is the difference between how much your parents have paid into the house and what's left on the mortgage. If you end up having to give the house back to the bank, you'll still get back a good portion of the money your parents already put in.

Anon. Iโ€™m unironically looking into doing this. Iโ€™m in Cali and they seem to constantly be hiring. The starting pay is like 28 an hour for entry level tier. I really enjoy kids, and Iโ€™m considering it. Iโ€™ve worked sales mostly all my life, but I cannot stand the type of coworkers and the environment, everyone is extremely narcisstic and insecure as all fuck. Iโ€™ve had about 5 jobs where I come in as the new guy, start outperforming everyone sales wise, and suddenly everyone just passive aggressively lashes out and makes copium tier excuses for why I consistently outperform them for no reason, regardless of whether Iโ€™m respectful or not. I wanted to do something with more value to me personally. Do you like the work or was it just a job, and you just stayed with it?

I did not ever see myself working with kids let alone autistic ones but I do gotta say after almost 3 years now doing this job I enjoy it. Now there are gonna be some days where it sucks but the good days completely overshadow them. Seeing a kid that couldn't even speak progress into saying full sentences like "I love you mom." really is a good feelin'.

If you choose this path you are probably going to be working mostly with women, it is a female dominated field but that honestly isn't a bad thing. Everyone doing this job is pretty caring and empathetic. No backstabbing can even be done really because there are just so few techs and BCBAs to serve the community. Companies are hungry as fuck to hire people all the time.

It depends solely on what you make of it. You hit a crossroads where to either appreciate the decisions youโ€™ve made, learn from them, and keep working on yourself, even if youโ€™re a loser, or you just become bitter and jaded, successful or not. Iโ€™m in the former, I focused too much on wanting to be a normalfag and prioritized girls and sex too much, I achieved it, and in the 30s portion of my life, Iโ€™m just now making good money and finding my footing professionally. I hit a quarter life crisis early on where I felt like a loser who wasted his youth on a bunch of meaningless vain shit because I was so insecure about being a shit in wow nerd. However, I came out of it, and now have a mental clarity I never had before, and just am okay with stuff going how itโ€™s going and feel peaceful as I work towards my goals.

Giving up on the past and focusing on what makes you happy now, while not being retarded and keeping money in mind is the key to a happy life.

The steady mainstream acceptance of AI is inevitable. We haven't even seen its final form, but it's already encroaching on wish fulfillment.

I think you slowly do fizzle out or frequent other boards. /v/ is primarily all zoomers now and itโ€™s very noticeable. I go to /tv/ and /lit/ more now, but even then I donโ€™t check this site as much as I did in my mid 20s.

This was my realization as well. 4chan is a shadow of what is used to be, but the entire rest of the internet is MUCH worse. I tried going on Twitter for the first time during the outage and the sheer degree of venom and passive aggressiveness being spewed out by the ugliest people I've ever seen is unreal. The worst users of 4chan are angels compared to how fucked up and vicious people have become.

I've been enjoying playing a lot of older games, especially with how cheap they are compared to new ones. They have a lot more "SOVL" than modern day stuff, and it made me realize that there's still a lot of good in the world of games, it's just that this industry is in a current unfortunate state with the big-budget games.

The worlds interesting but the writing beyond that is kind of terrible, especially for your characters dialogue options. Way too many Fallout 4 Sarcasm lines or general millenial-esk isms that don't really let you roleplay any sort of deeper character except being the inquisitive player character. That's really what killed it for me the most, treating it like a sandbox only went so far when I couldn't get immersed in what was going on.

Does it ever occur to you guys that we're pioneers? No past generations of humans have ever aged with the internet. We've still yet to reach a point where the majority of the elderly have spent the majority of their lives online. That's what we're going to be though. We're the prototypes experiencing something no other generation ever has, but everyone who comes after us will. Kinda neat.

There's no guarantee that the internet will still exist as we know it 100 years from now. Even then though, I agree that our shared experience is unique.
