the Siren is at least cute but none of the vault hunters look particularly interesting. If you look at the BL2 trailer Maya looks like a total badass in just a 5 second clip. Axton and Zero too, Brick in BL1 instantly gives off a vibe.

Boderlands is unique... Artists and gameplay designers rescue what is an annoying piece of California shit. But the California business model and other shit takes so much of what works, it makes it hard to enjoy playing these games. I strongly recommend BL clones or BL-like games because they cut out all the annoying part and are just the fun portion. It's almost like Zombies, great side game, but still side game. I recommend Killing Floor instead

Instead of being wacky stupid BS made up on the fly, it's wacky stupid BS planned out to try and make characters have some substance, even if it's not particularly good substance.
For a Borderlands trailer, it's definitely more in-depth and interesting than the usual backstories. The only real issue is that it builds off the asspulls of BL3's Siren lore retcon (BL1 and 2, when a Siren dies, the next female born receives those powers, while in 3, they can be given specifically and can be received after birth). Everything else about it is quite Borderlandsy and I suspect anyone who is shitting on it blindly never liked Borderlands to begin with.

The thing I want most is for them to fix the gimmick weapon problem. Every BL endgame ultimately ends up with extremely pigeonholed weapons being the meta because once you work around their awkward weaknesses you end up with the highest DPS in the game, which is sometimes plain necessary for the hardest content. If they can solve this problem and make it viable to just use a "normal" gun then they'll have my $70 easily.

Started with the Handsome Jack casino DLC(which is pretty good, actually) and I was already regretting doing a dlc at low level because I had 3 legendaries by level 16. Even the tier just below can be OP as well. When you get that prison on the Jackobs planet you can find that illegal weapons vender and get these purple rarity guns but they have crazy effects. I got a sniper rifle if you could call it that because its attack was once it hits the target it releases a circle of orbs that electrocute them and anyone around so it's really just this AOE weapon now and not a sniper. Like that other anon mentioned they need to expand the weapons in the game because it's becoming too much with the crazy weapon effects. They really should look to Ratchet and Clank for weapon designs if they wanna go all out on the wackiness over semi-realist approach. If you want something fires grenades like a machinegun then just make a weapon that looks like it can mechanically do that as opposed to me holding some horrid mashup of parts that's supposed to be an assault rifle and grenades magically fly out of it.
