No. It's samey throughout. The RPG mechanics are such tacked on BS that they might as well not exist when there's next to no reward for random fights and story fights just immediately put you on level for the next story fight - and the skill trees are just ignorable until you beat the main game.
Bosses are still going to be a rather average fight with suddenly waiting out their super attack spam in which you typically hold a direction to dodge that ends up making the time of said fights go longer than it needs to.
And the side quest dimension is a lot of wasted opportunities that never feels satisfying outside of certain cameos like "Oh shit that's Eighter", for a big RPG about dragonball it feels like the picking and choosing of what to focus on is a bunch of fucking dud decisions.
