because the hardware is 2 gens old, it's already a pain in the ass having the series S hold everything back.

Most devs don't even have dev kits yet. Never mind the 6+ months it takes to port a game over to an ARM system

Them being scared of leaks and not giving third party devs the dev kit will always be a retarded move. Especially with how easy the chinese factories leaked the device anyway. Now we have to wait for any sort of patch

It's already hitting the low 20s in some parts of cyberpunk, a 5 year old game. Almost every new big third party is UE5 and most of them are going to be out of the question with that level of performance.

Devs don't care about consoles anymore, they've all been moving to PC. GDC had over 80% of devs say they were making games for PC while only 8% wanted to do anything with the S2.

Ah yes, the Switch 2 power level discussions on 4chan. Home of third worlders (South Americans, Southeast Asian, East Europe, India) who are on GTX 970s and 15 year old Intel CPUs to play pirated games that run on 30 different bootstrappers CMD keyloggers in the background.

>the minimum specs (which are usually entirely spitballed) listed a 7 year old 8 core processor
What retard wrote this shit? Of course it'll run on less than that, hexacores like the 9600x and 12400 absolutely run rings around the 2700x. Even ancient shit like the 5600 and 10th gen Intel CPUs outperform a 2700x

Not surprised a tech illiterate tendie falling for clickbait.

How hard is it to port a game to switch? It seems like PC/Xbox/PS5 would be much easier. Nintendo needs to throw around more money to buy ports.

Third parties are stuck between a rock and a hard place, either they support Nintendo a monolith they haven't supported for decades where they have no fanbase and no relevance and end up helping it grow while failing to grow themselves on that platform or they stay away from it desperately trying to prop up any and all alternatives avoiding the inevitable collapse of the lucrative console market. Truth is Nintendo has already won, the advantages of PC aren't worth it for most consumers who just buy a prebuilt to install Steam, power is one advantage but by Switch 3 that won't even matter, Switch will have a lower cost point, portability and ease of use, and you will still have access to your Switch 1 library.

Even that’s not much of a reassurance given the news story about how pretty much all 3rd-party games were underperforming and/or outright bombing on the switch. Even when the switch 2 only had one big game people would rather pay $10 for better graphics on BotW than play 3rd party. Combined with weaker hardware and having to do all that work to optimize, at that point why even bother with a switch 2 port?
