Those people settle under Enir-Ilim, found Belurat and take the imagery and religious inspiration of the Spiral Tower, and start using the numen spirits to increase their focus and connection to the Crucible and the Divine.

Hornsent make a Divine Gate with their dead to commune with God and Marika, the sage that created it, strips the corpse of the new aspiring Goddess of Grace and uses the Gateway herself to create the Golden Order. She then takes the Rune of the Unborn from the Gloam Eyed Queen.

The Golden Order moves war to the other 5 factions, and Marika ends up starting Golden Orden Fundamentalism and betrays the Hornsent, dropping the spiral imagery.

Marika shatters the Ring. The Two Fingers compel those with grace to attack the Tarnished on sight, so that their Death creates saplings for the Erdtree. After the Tarnished are lead to unseal Death, Marika uses that to complete her ascension and using Regression to bring EB back.

I hope there is another DLC. As OP mentioned, there was a lot of missing potential for Melina, endings, and more. I think this is an issue that is mirrored in the shitfuckery of DLC/expansions that are

The entirety of Miquellas plans hinged on using Mohgs corpse to bring back Radahn after Radahn got killed at the festival. You can for example tell that the Divine Towers have all Crucible imagery beyond some different "faction" emblems

Another example is the Deep in Dark Souls 3. People just ASSummed it was some kind of weird Abyss, but that didn't make sense due to all references to the actual Deep being a sacred place later corrupted. Instead, the Deep is a wellspring which can be seen or better heard right under the Cathedral, and that used to flow into the building through the statues that now drop poison
