The reason taxes exist is because there are certain aspects of society that are extremely inefficient to finance on an individual level. Imagine if you had to pay a fee every time you want to drive on a road because they're all built by private companies. Entrance fee for public park. Can't go anywhere without getting hassled by a company to pay first. Maybe those companies negotiate a package subscription model but if you pay that you're doing the exact same shit as paying taxes but worse.
