Talents being able to keep their character IP is one of the most hilariously terrible business decisions and I've said this for years. It's like how some vidya composers managed to get majority or full rights to their compositions for a series, and often end up throwing a wrench made of pure monkeyshit into negotiations involving future use of content from said series due to being massive prima donnas. COUGHsquareenixCOUGH This was unambiguously a good deal for the talents, but speaking purely from a fiscal standpoint, it's utterly insane.
