Whether the initiative pass or things change or not this is more about public perception of the issue. People can choose to not buy the corporate slop and play consumer friendly indie games instead. We need the gigaslop AAA "you will own nothing" kind of games to flop HARD, these greedy companies need to go bankrupt. People need to be mad at these companies so that they can start to actively reject them, this is a good first step. The stuff on your computer isn't golf clubs is only part of the game and not enought to even have a game to play in the case of MMOs, the other part is being run on a server your connected to.
