I remember a streamer a year or two back who streamed DR, enjoyed it, and wanted to play DR2, but DR2 streaming rights only extend to the first case, you're not allowed to show any footage beyond that. The problem here is Japan has the right to make public and that's exclusively the right of the author. There's no fair use for streaming vidya, the author of a product has the right to decide if you can or not and how since streaming is making a work public.
That's what those ridiculous streaming policies are for, conferring rights. They're legally enforceable there. In the western hemisphere, they have no meaning because we have fair use.

The real question is if RTA had somehow failed in its most basic duty of streaming games for charity by failing to ask for permission to stream games, just how careful are they with the money they had raised from these events? Can we really trust them to not misplaced millions of dollars here or that it had somehow ended up in their own pockets?
