I keep alt-f4ing Persona 5 Royal. I played about half of it a few years ago and wanted to make an effort to actually beat the game but I feel compelled to restart the game as I don't remember the story. Unfortunately what I'm finding out is I don't care enough to sit through the opening.

Maybe I'll just play SMTVV or something instead.

I'm going thru Re4make, currently at the castle. I wasn't gonna buy it because I'm not a huge re4 fan, but I had just replayed 2 before and decided to bite the bullet. I like that they changed the lines but kept the absurd humor

I'm using Godot, which is fine for low poly 3D games that don't plan on doing anything too crazy. Also using Blender to make the 3D models and Trenchbroom for the levels. Game's basically like a mix of the adventuring of classic Zelda games with the combat of Dragon's Dogma. Still early in dev, don't even have a proper level yet but I'm close to finishing all the core mechanics.

My zoomer girlfriend (22) bought me a SNES mini console to with "the little NES console you have by the TV!". Didn't have the heart to point out tha the NES Mini is actually a raspberry Pi and has every SNES worth having on it plus other consoles, it's also the reason why webpages and youtube loads so quickly in my house and why her phone doesn't get any ads on my wifi because it has PiHole installed on it.

Still tryna 5 star all locations in Death Stranding before I finish it off. Pretty settled on doing my second Cyberpunk playthrough after that, first one being at launch. Gonna try a corpo assassin that only wears and uses gear they crafted themselves. Probably long rifles and short knives as a focus.

yeah, everything there is done by me except the textures, which are just cc0 textures scaled down. What are you working on? Back when I was starting the project, learning about animation trees and animation blending helped me a lot, since I believe making their transitions feel smoother is key.

Mostly all tutorials. So far I've used AI for 2 things: the calculation of an enemy jump given a time and a target point (I suck at math) and a question about Godot's trash collector that I was too lazy to look for myself lol. I think AI is a powerful tool but it also makes lots of mistakes, so I'd rather just figure things on my own. It's more fun anyway.

So far I've only managed to get a basic third person character camera and movement system down, along with some basic animations. I'm not working in an actual game engine though, I'm using javascript lol. specifically three.js with react three fiber. not exactly ideal for games but i found unity to be too overwhelming and i already have some experience with react. Still, I'm learning a lot (like making an animation blending system from scratch) and I feel like most of the logic can transfer over if I want to move to a more legit engine like godot or unity. Right now though I'm enjoying seeing my project get hot updated in the browser for every change I make.

You can bet that once you make the jump to an actual engine a lot of what you are learning now is going to come in useful, specially if you with Godot since it's premise is basically "make little components that you can reuse to make bigger components" which is something I bet you are used to already. 34, father of three, audio/video teacher whose kids come back to class tomorrow. Aside from the occasional indie horror PC game I can knock out in one night I play maybe one game every other year. Just bought pic related because it's made by the same guy who did Scratches, which I played as a teen back when it came out. Low expectations, high hopes.

I found dating to be way easier as I got older. I was terrified of dating again after my first wife as I was north of 35 at the time and to my surprise it was great. Lisa: The Painful. Had it sitting in my Steam library literally for a decade, but decided to play it for the first time just now.
I don't think I like that style of RPG, but I actually like the game quite a lot so far. Wish I'd stop falling into bottomless pits, though. Not particularly fond of the placement of some ropes. Putting them literally one step from death is a bit devilish. Haven't lost a lot of progress yet, but still.. I'm sure I'm going to be pissed, when it will eventually happen.

Still on Halo 2, I spent like 4 straight hours playing the game today. I didn't remember how long the levels were and the Flood levels on Heroic are way harder than I expected. I just started Gravemind so I'm still 4 chapters away from finishing the game.

I have too many untouched games in my Steam account, and I still want to buy some Switch games like Metroid Dread and Pikmin 4, so I'm not buying anything new anytime soon unless it's a AAA game for piss cheap, as in $5 cheap.

After spending so many years depending on laptops, and now that I finally built my first PC at my 36 years, I realized that I'm still pretty damn good at videogames compared to a lot of streamers I tend to watch. I don't really remember playing many FPS on PC, I believe the last one that I beat was Half Life 2 in 2021 at a shitty framerate in my toaster laptop if you don't count Doom 2016 on Switch, but I'm cruising through Halo on Heroic with some really good accuracy. I guess it helps finally being able to play at a framerate higher than 30fps. I've been seriously thinking about streaming my games, but whenever I look at how to get into streaming, it's way too overwhelming, you pretty much have to become your own brand if you ever want to at least have 2 digit viewers.

I finished Steamworld Dig 2 earlier. Pretty solid game. Didn't know that Steamworld Heist took place in space as a direct result of the events of SWD2. I started playing Hollow Knight but I dunno if I'm really jiving with it. The art, music, and sound design are amazing but the gameplay feels kinda, just, I dunno, off? It doesn't feel great to me and I don't know why.

It's funny seeing these two games release simultaneously, but I'm so burned out on the roguelite VS-style pick from three choices type of indie game that I don't think I'll try out either. I just want a good FPS with a campaign, it was supposed to be Doom this year but I'm still let down by that.
