>it's a nice hobby, lots to learn
that's one of the things I appreciate the most. Work's been getting a bit boring during the past few years and I'm happy to be doing something that keeps the brain curious and active.
>once it got to the point of "what's game gonna be about?" i blanked out every time
really? damn. My main source of inspiration is "what game do I want to play that nobody else seems to be making".
>what engine are you using and what kind of game do you plan to make?
I'm using Godot, which is fine for low poly 3D games that don't plan on doing anything too crazy. Also using Blender to make the 3D models and Trenchbroom for the levels. Game's basically like a mix of the adventuring of classic Zelda games with the combat of Dragon's Dogma. Still early in dev, don't even have a proper level yet but I'm close to finishing all the core mechanics.

I like the comf but the game isn't going to be anything like that, unless you find adventuring intrinsicly comfy

happy birthday anon! Factorio can't get a bit hard to get into specially at the later tech levels, but don't give up even if your factory resembles an spaghetti bowl, it's part of the fun.
