Not really
Parrying feels much worse than in Sekiro and not as rewarding - the damage on fatal attacks is really disappointing even with every upgrade put into it
Bosses have a ton of weirdly delayed attacks just so parrying them would be even harder
Idk why the game is lauded as next best thing after Sekiro, it's all over the place, it doesn't know what it wants to be and lacks that laser sharp vision Sekiro had

Fast handle with + heavy "blade" is pretty much the meta, there are some other effective combinations and special weapons but this one is probably most reliable and you get it very early. Can upgrade to live puppet axe head from wrench head for even more damage and block and to one of the other fast handles like chef knife or bramble sword but thats it basically.
It's really embarassing how weapon assemble is one of the few things that sets the game apart from other soulclones but using slower heavier handles is a handicap more often then not, unless you really need some specific weapon art or increased range (various fast spear handles are what you'd probably use in the latter case)
