Clans are vampire bloodlines and they behave like classes in an RPG, e.g. Brujahs are Warriors, Tremere are Mages, Nosferatu are Thieves/Rogue, etc. The original game released with 7 playable clans, with 2 of them, Nosferatu and Malkavian, offering a completely different gameplay experience.

Up to today we only knew the sequel would release with 4 playable clans, with Toreador, i.e. the suave charismatic vampire that a lot of people like to play, not being available. It turns out it's actually locked behind a day 1 DLC because the jews at Paradox just couldn't help themselves.

It's actually good, but you have to have a stomach for janky games. The combat can be a complete mess but it's also possible to become very strong depending on your clan, pro tip make sure you have some proficiency in guns or the late game is going to chew you up.

Get the GOG version if you can, because it comes with the Unofficial Patch pre installed, don't play it without patching it, I made that mistake my first time around and got a corrupted save halfway through the game.

You can always just pick a melee focused clan, it's really not a big deal. Guns only become really good with sufficient investment. Or if you pick a clan that has the gun buff discipline.

The best first clan to play is Toreador since it has the best abilities for guns. Celerity makes guns even stronger outside the flame thrower. The late game is combat heavy and guns mixed with spells is the most fun for the late game.

The best playthrough I did was with Malkavian due to all of the schizo jank that happens, you shouldn't choose it first since it spoils the game without you knowing it. Nozforatu is good, but it heavily limits what you can actually do.

They have a stronger DPS and uses ammo which is easier to get than blood. One of the final raids has human enemies randomly in the way you can accidentally kill that ruins any chance to get more blood, and blood is expensive in packs. Vampire magic takes blood which is your HP backup supply and your magic casting abilities, and buffing spells costs blood and they are almost required to do anything unless it's a lower tier enemy and not too many of them. Enemies tend to swarm you which makes it harder not to use defensive buffs.

Melee is good but enemies use guns in the late game, you can easily get sniped if you aren't careful.

Blood supply and control becomes massive due to it being used for multiple purposes, but less important for ranged builds which is usually why they are better for new players who won't know when certain bosses happen or when blood becomes harder to access.

it depends on your build, you can do the whole game with charisma, but you will be awful in one of the boss fights that's required. You can do full on spells, but it makes you weaker without buffs along with needing a good supply of blood. Melee doesn't need too much blood outside of buffs and healing, but is more limited. Most people talk about guns since it's the easiest thing to deal with. For example there is a boss fight if you choose every route but the Chinese whore where guns makes her boss fight take 2 seconds while any other build has it being challenging.

it still has issues and I assume it is still shit on last gen console but it was broken as fuck on launch and they fixed it to a reasonable point, revamped the entire skill and perk system and obviously eventually released the DLC.
Still like I said has some glaring issues still.
Not completely free of bugs, is still jank (to be expected) has issues with stats not proccing or RNG stat shit on cyberware and weapons being retarded.
Worse thing is last 2 patches added superficial cosmetic and even photo mode shit but didn't even bother to address bugs that people on the forums have been complaining about for years. Myself included.
One specific bug where the level 60 netrunner skill has never ever worked since they implemented the skill system change.
It is a good game and has lots of replay value because of build options but they could have made a much better game and the games release should have been postponed for a few years.

Not only it is a good game storywise, the gameplay is also great. A lot of it is basically simplified DX stealth/melee/firearms/magic shit but the feedback and the feel of it is also fine aside from pretty much a single boss out there. Enemies fly away from you when blasted with a shotgun, shooting an SMG will send your hand flying without proper skills, beating the shit out of people is also fun. You WILL have to fight/sneak through throughout the entire game but the early game is easy enough for you to not spec into combat early on. It's the same with Arcanum, where people refuse to interact with the game's combat and then call it bad.

4chan is boring, excessive and predictably schizophrenic as usual, the game is shaping up to be somewhat good and I'm interested, it will all come downs to the middle sections and the ending. If they can give me a proper and satisfying ending unlike the original, this will be overall a decent experience.

The issue is that if Phyre turns out to be some ancient antitribu just conveniently hanging out in Seattle, it starts to feel like lazy worldbuilding. Even with the Cam buckling under pressure, elders like that don’t just roam around without serious consequences. Unless it's tied into something bigger - like a Gehenna cult or the Banu Haqim scheming post-Second Inquisition - it’s a stretch. If they lean into mystery and paranoia with her background, though, it could work. Just don’t pull a retcon dump five hours in and expect it to land.

Looking at the RadBrad footage, I am struck by the fact that they really did reveal the game too early. It was very unpolished visually back in late 2023/early 2023. It looks very slick now. I kinda like the atmosphere it built up. I love the first game to death but the more it distances itself from it and tries to be its own thing the better in my opinion. The first game was a product of its own time and should not tried to be replicated, nor the game should pander to nostalgia by constantly referencing to it (hehe Ankaran Sarcophagus DLC fuck you Paradox).
