I started to use it. Not too many issues so far. I'm especially happy because of the shit windows is going through.
I can see why people don't want to use it. There are like a million versions and there is always a fear you picked the wrong one or your game just doesn't work
Also some games really won't work because of shitty kernel level anti cheat

Doesn't it require alot of work to get games to sync with all the other programs they use like live service stuff and background programs? Since modern gamers don't even know how games are made I imagine they don't want to bother.
the biggest problem with linux is that the window buttons are round and ugly and un-reactive, like on windows, if you hover the minimize button, it will change color, but on linux, if you hover the button, like it's so small you can't even see if it changes color. also when using the web browser, switching tabs with the mouse is giga annoying because there is a bar at the top of the screen that shows the time n shit, but because of this gay ass bar, the window tabs are like not at the top of the screen, so you gotta move your mouse up to the top of the screen, and then a little down to click on the tab. absolute nigger design. this is why open source sucks. full of clueless niggers. windows had it right from the start

yes it is. EAC and many other anti cheats work on Linux. It's merely a matter of the devs/publishers wanting it.
The anticheat will run it just won't have kernel access. Which honestly it doesn't need.

Linux sounds like a hassle to get up and running, especially with so many distros. Windows is just "turn on and it works" to the average person.

If you use Linux your hobby inevitably turns into compiling kernels and similar to make games run and the act of actually gaming becomes secondary. ("Runs great on my DECK!" yeah but is it good?)
If you actually care about gaming you should just install windows. We all hate it but it just works and when it doesn't it's usually not your fault and someone else will fix it.

Well, yes. I want things to just work once I put the initial effort to make it work. Now I don't need to worry about other distros like Ubuntu as well or bricking my system. I can just boot to a previous change if needed. I've since deployed VMs in the cloud with NixOS as their OSs and managed to automate even the setup of a bunch of stuff on them so I don't even need to SSH into the VMs themselves, only the master node in my cluster. I can have as many identical worker nodes as I want since its all using the same nix config file.

In linux you install something and there is no link and nothing and you then look in the folder only to be greeted by all kinds of files but no way of knowing which file starts the program because there are not dedicated extensions that just tell you its the thing to klick to start shit. No one can tell you what the .exe equivalent is.

The simple answer is that i'm retarded and would rather spend my time playing games and using applications than figuring out how to use it. Even when I tried it it never made any sense. I would go to download something and it would only have a handful of distro options. Ok...guess i'll pick this one even though it's not my distro. Oops. too bad. And then even if I could get it to download, it's just some text file. I want to be able to double click and start the application, not downoaod some code and then magically (no instructiobs btw) know where to paste that code and how to run it to actually download said application. The easiest way is to just use the distros built in app store. But at the end of the day, it will never have as many applicatiobs as Windows, and they will never run as good as Windows. Plus, Linux versions of some apps have missing features. Some games just flat out won't work. And this meme that it's only multiplayer games is just that. A meme. I don't want every single purchase to be a gamble of "I wonder if this will work or not". Also, i'm not transgender, so I use Windows.

>older games still run much worse than Win

And the only real difference is what fucking package manager you use. Literally just pick whatever distro has the coolest logo and be done with it. Desktop environments can be changed to your preference.

ZorinOS is great to just double click and install GOG .exe games the same way you do on Windows. It has wine and everything preconfigured and compatibility is great. It's the only linux option I've seen with a paid variant but the paid version just comes bloated with freeware and different desktop appearances.
BazziteOS is great for gamescope and a SteamDeck-like experience. It boots straight into Steam and has the desktop hidden behind big picture mode. I prefer Bazzite if using a portable/laptop, controller, or for when you don't mind using Steam as the frontend.
