You can also try LARPing (I met a lot through that) the age range for both (cons and LARPing) is like 14-45 so it's guranteed that you'll find some friends your age or older and you can pivot from there. In LARPing there is also the feeling of cooprative effort when you train with swords or prefect props or learn acting and making memorable scenes together (or just get trashed drunk with them after a gathering). You can find local practicing LARP groups in social media or nerd forums and they always accept newcomers. Be prepered to do work, though (like making a costume, building props and writing characters you can actually pull off acting as.) I joined the LARP production crew of the group I was in; not as much acting but more logistics and camping on location a few days before the LARP, it makes a good bonding exricise and there is always work to do together (setting up scenery, making a fire, etc.) After a while, we hung out outside LARPing and visited eachothers houses smoking weed and getting drunk, watching movies or just shoot the shit. You are guranteed to find a girl through there, esp if you played with her before and had some good scenes. Worst case scenario you'll end up having make-believe fun, often drunk, with some nerds in a forest and having a bunch of friends to hang-out with.
