1. Beating recruitable enemies into submission will eventually make them tired and sparable without having to use ACT on them, this is also the case in Undertale
2. You can beat most bosses violently without consequence, for secret bosses this will change the reward you get to a weapon rather than armor
3. Any of the evil dark enemies (The Roaring Knight, Titan Spawn, and the Titan) you are literally encouraged to kill, and I believe you can even become stronger/level up from Titan Spawn

There is literally no way that the Pacifist ending will be the worst ending, it is IMPOSSIBLE that Toby would make it so that being nice to everyone results in a worse ending than doing the weird route and being mean to the goofy characters you find in the game. On top of this, attacking is always the better option for these bosses because it's always faster than the pacifist option. I played undertale and did the pacifist run but deltarune confuses me. Is there a pacifist run? Or is it just concerned with recruiting? I feel like my team gets 1 shot almost on a fuck up.

deltarune made me realize I don't actually like multiple endings. Bad endings always feel like a giant middle finger, plus whichever one you get probably boils down to doing some asinine, easily missable side quest or (even worse) picking dialogue options that the devs decided was the "right" thing to say, and the options either all sound like different ways to say the same thing, or it's cartoonishly obvious which one they want. Also they practically necessitate guide usage.

It doesn't scream at you to do anything. A character suggesting you to do something, or another one making you feel bad about killing someone isn't the same as the game's overall message. Robert Fox said himself, that you should play it however you like. Just accept, that if the story includes killing, then it will be a darker story. But you aren't judged harshly for it at the end of the game. If anything, the character doing the judging makes excuses for you, only communicating feeling hurt, if you kill another character close to them. They only try to stop you, if you do a genocide.

finally got around to playing chapter 3 and 4, they were okay but chapter 2 is still the best one
I'm not sure where the story is going with all this snow witch nonsense, I get it's supposed to be symbolic of something more grounded in the real world but so far noelle's mom has looked like such a comically villainous bitch it's hard to get invested. I feel like at this point in a story like this I should have more insight into the world of the adults, and the town should probably already be twitchy about a hoodlum roaming around doing weird crimes (the roaring knight). Instead we get Toriel getting drunk with Sans and uuuuh that's about it. The real world feels faker than the dark worlds and I'm not sure that's the intent. I'm not 100% convinced Dess is the roaring knight, I think Rudolph has a decent chance as well. But overall I feel like for being this far into the story, the stakes are still pretty nebulous. Sure there's all this nonsense about the titans and the world ending but like, that could just be dark world nonsense that doesn't translate literally in the light world (and you'd think light world people would know about this kind of thing, but whatever). Overall while toby's harebrained storytelling and wacky humor works for a game like undertale, I feel like it's way less suited for a game like deltarune, it makes it feel like the story lacks the meat it needs for the gravitas it's shooting for.

Having played through both Undertale and Deltarune, I agree with you, that chapter 1 has moments where the writing is too gratuitously emotional. However, Undertale and Deltarune chapters 2-4 don't suffer from this problem, so I recommend playing on.
