I replayed the hd collection on my 360 recently and with both 2 and 3 i just lost patience partway through.

Problem with MGS1 for me is that much like MGS4 most of the actual stealth gameplay is so front loaded and then the second half becomes a set piece/boss rush. MGS3 actually has quite a solid amount of gameplay from beginning to end.

This game is not worth $70 and everyone is well within their right to pirate this game. That being said. I cranked the saturation up like crazy on my TV and the game actually looks great. MGSV controls don't really do anything to enhance the game since you basically just run through corridors easily shooting guards in the face. the only slightly demanding sneaking was in the science lab and the area with the carrions according to my memory.

I'm a pretty autistic mgs3 fan, I played it tons back in the day. It's a VERY easy game to the point I just do a new game on easy mode for the EZgun to make the slog through the levels as painless as possible. it's borderline mostly a loading screen because of how short a lot of the areas are and how long the loading times were.

Because this remake isn't 1:1 to begin with? There is no definitive verison of Snake Eater until now, every version changes the gameplay mechanics, the meat of the game. Delta changes the gameplay further as well and without any of the drawbacks of previous versions.

Correction, it was Kojima, not Konami who wanted to fish for a female audience with Raiden. It was Kojima that insisted on Raiden. Also, Raiden wasn't too bad in the JP version, he had a relatively deep voice and his writing was decent. The English dub made him a bit faggier in both writing and his voice acting was more high pitched. So that clouded the perceptions of people in the US.
MGS2 overall isn't bad though. I will argue Kojima had his priorities hilariously wrong with that game, and him misunderstanding shit about what people liked/disliked about both MGS2 and later MGS3 is what kind of led to his writing taking a downturn from MGS4 and onwards.
