DS2 is the slowest From game by far. You watch a video of Fume Knight and think "wtf this looks easy as shit, how come people die 50 times to this boss", but then you play the game and your character takes 5 business days to turn around, and you need to pump a stat to have any i-frames at all. It's that bad. Still worth a playthrough if you're a big From fan, but just saying.

And don't bother with the vanilla version, it's a straight downgrade, takes forever to unlock infusions, which matters because weapon scaling is awful in DS2 and you want to infuse lightning ASAP.

It's not some magnificent storytelling but it touches on the nostalgia of roleplaying as a kid and making up stories as you play around.
