Yeah, I made it so when you dash, you instantly change trajectory to whichever direction you want. So, if you're sliding toward a hazard, you can just dash in another direction. The down side is, now you're going very quickly on ice.
Your game looks really great by the way. You're making insane progress.

When you're going from ti (the 7th scale degree) to do (tonic) like how you do at 0:32, I think the resultant phrase would be more affective if it continued to go up instead of down.

Instead of immediately going down at 0:03, Sugiyama continues to go upward a little bit longer before going back down. He's using that 7th scale degree to building tension, but delaying its release.

Just make a habit of coding something in godot every day. Read the docs (ctrl+click) and/or ask an AI for anything you don't understand.
If you put it in your mind that you need to learn X (coding, python, art, game design theory, etc.) before making a game, you'll never start. my camera pivot is always at the same coordinate as the player's shoulders, and I used a springarm to zoom it out. Thing is that thing gave me a lot of jittering at specific places, and using a shapecast instead is much better. Could have used a raycast instead but that was resulting in camera clipping when turning it too fast.

Historically there's a bit of a socialist bend to cyberpunk. Corps vs. workers works because most people are workes. You can arrange things to get rid of that, to make the antagonist the government or random lone criminals, but personally I think you loose a bit of soul without that historical connection.

Not that I know of, I'm not that deep into the genre. I guess what you could to is look for either minority writers tackling the same themes or other left-ish writing and try to apply them to tech. That should give something kind of in the right direction, but still distinct. Like those Japanese influences don't come from Cyberpunk writers in the 70s being weebs, but from Japan's massive economic growth that had people assume they would dominate the US.

I think you're overcomplicating it. Camera looks fine in first person when you're scrunched up against a wall, so just stick with first person when you've got a ranged weapon out. Worked for Ocarina of Time. The ""smart"" feature of jittering between views like that is unpleasant

Made 3 new enemy ships these past few days. They're all fairly similar in the "bulbous" design as they're from a single faction, though I may take the left purple one and refit it a bit to be part of a water-based faction.
Also I submitted my steam page for review on Friday, worried it wasn't going to get approved in time to register for next fest (and it still isn't approved), but I checked anyway and it turns out I was able to register for Next Fest without needing to have the store page approved and public. So, very happy about that, as I really wanted to enter the fest.

okay. let's make a music track.
how long do you want it to be? maybe 1 minute.
for 1 minute, you have to make it so that it has a coherent structure. so for the most basic of that, you have to count in terms of 4 bars/measures.
how many bars/measures can you fit into one minute? you'll math that into tempo.
let's use a very simple time signature, 4:4. so 4 beats per 1 bar/measure. if I want 36 bars/measures in total for my track in one minute, that would mean? 36 bars * 4 beats/bar * 1 beat/minute. so your beats per minute (tempo) is? 144. cool.
map out your 36 bars now. the first 12 bars go into introducing your track. just some elements picking up the pace. the next 12 bars build up to the climax. the last 12 bars are the climax, that should loop back into the beginning 12 bars.
that's your music track. now what do you want it to have?
