There is no genuine difference. The gamma levels are different. It's like flipping out over a TV having Vibrant mode. Xenoblade 2 was made in 2017. Nintendo has objectively become more censorious since. Xenoblade 3 had most of the hallmarks of "global standards" screening, Xenoblade X and Tokyo Mirage Sessions on Switch were censored globally despite the backlash to the initial censored releases, they blackwashed several characters in the Another Code remakes and troonwashed Vivian in the Paper Mario TTYD remaster. Xenoblade 3 is perfectly in line with the rest of the Xeno series, I don't know why so many people got up in arms about it. The Xeno series uses nudity as a visual shorthand for ethereality, one that 3 follows with Ouroboros. 2 featured a relatively larger amount of skimpy designs simply because it has more characters (ie the blades) that necessitate it. All of the human designs are just as if not more covered than your average party member/hero in 3 (Morag and driver Nia being prime examples). The game isn't a sign of "global standards" or whatever the fuck at all.

If we're going directly off of Monolith Soft's behavior, the only example of them censoring a release is Xenoblade X DE. I'm not a developer there and can't really speak to the decision making process, but if I had to guess it was done because the Switch is not a region locked console, and it would be easier to simply rerelease the version that had already been approved by western ratings boards. Given that they kept in everything with the bunny suits and swimsuits, I don't think it's a sign of anything more than that. Xenoblade 1 wasn't censored at all despite featuring some of the most revealing outfits in the series, including swimsuits that didn't exist in the original game.

Yup, I told you guys they would do a whole new Switch 2 version because the game wasn't designed to be run at 60fps. Even if they were going to make a patch, there are a bunch of things that need to be changed that the engine at the time just couldn't do. The game will run on the updated 3/X engine. X will get an update first that will turn on 60 fps mode. 2 is getting a complete rerelease as a Switch 2 edition, with all DLC and some changes for better integration of those assets. New lighting, better attack effects, some cutscenes redone, HDR, 60fps, pull rates for Rare Blades changed, added quests for rare Blades that didn't have quests. 2, despite how much was done post launch, is still a game that they feel wasn't properly done because of how much of the staff was away doing BotW. This will be seen as their chance to do it properly and give i t the things they still felt were missing.

You already saw Lin's outfits and the bust slider get removed from XBX Switch globally. That was DIRECTLY Treehouse's fault, we know that because they were the ones who pushed for it on the Wii U version. As for Xenoblade 3, all we can go off of is speculation because as I said, anything that Treehouse disapproves of would have been shut down in development. Your folly is assuming this has anything to do with the rating boards. Lin's uncensored bikini would not have pushed Xenoblade X's rating up to M and neither would the bust slider. These were not changes demanded by any rating or regulatory agency, but by Nintendo themselves. The reason I mentioned ratings boards isn’t because Lin’s outfits would have raised the rating, but because it would have expedited the review process. Since the switch released, Nintendo has stopped developing separate SKUs for international releases; every copy of their games contains the global version. Going with the version of the game that was already approved by international ratings boards probably expedited the review process. I realize that I’m delving into speculation here too, but given that this is the core of your argument I figure I’d address my rationale.

Finding a specific enemy for a specific item is completely different and vastly more interesting than a singular item pool shared across all encounters that you have to get a slot machine roll to drop for. Because rolling for unique characters that play completely different from one another, locking loot behind having certain characters out of the character slot machine, giving you side missions to send your characters you rolled but aren't using to, and having the game technically beatable without rolling it is quintessential gacha. The ONLY difference is that xb2 is a full price video game and you can not buy primog-oops! I mean "core crystals." There is no stigma I am trying to attach, and I'd say you're the one being disingenuous by saying that these things are anything but true blue gacha elements.
