I'm not sure that it's a case of the games we play declining. Rather, I think it's that when I was growing up, most people weren't playing games at all, and now everyone is. I'm a zoomer and I play lots of traditional games, but I'm almost 30 and earning an above average wage, lots of people nowadays, specially young men have great trouble getting jobs, since you basically need like 18 years of experience right after finishing your degree which is impossible, add to that the cost of entry keeps increasing every year, with prices of games and consoles not only not being lowered, but increasing and computers keep increasing in price while components are made of less quality parts, it's just obvious they've been priced out of the videogames industry.
