The game features a bunch of stock Unreal Engine animations, most notably running, jumping, rolling, climbing on ledges. Those are the ones you will see the mist since your characters use them. There are also stock animations for cheering nd dancing used by side characters which you can miss entirely. This game really shows how being cinematic and “mature” is all that really matters to most people. It’s decent, but the gameplay isn’t some revelatory masterpiece and the balance is complete shit. And the story has shit pacing, with nothing going on in act 2 and a rushed act 3 that falls flat. And half the main cast doesn’t have anything to do for the whole game. It’s got a unique world (that it then undercuts), good music, and decent presentation (lip flaps suck). Doesn’t deserve GotY, and all the assuredness that it does in posts about it is annoying. It's not hard per se. My point is it doesn't respect your time, which you could've read in my posts before, but I guess you're too retarded.
Making some attacks counter-intuitive doesn't make it harder, but forces you to learn the patterns longer. This is shit game design.

but you cant actively level up pictos, and some are still like level 1 even after soinf absolutley everything in the game. like, would you have to play the game 33 times just to get Dodger from level 1 to 33?

OK now you've just confirmed beyond a shadow of a doubt that you're filtered by the timing requirement. You have to parry the moment the attack makes contact with you, not a moment sooner or later. You ignore the wind-up, it's a red herring. It's not as if the animation time skips right from the wind-up to the contact, all the frames are there, and there are audio cues as well. I'm not saying it should be easy for everybody, but if you seriously cannot comprehend how these attacks could be dodged or parried based on those cues alone without memorizing the timing, then that does suggest you have a legitimate skill issue.

Most pictos can be acquired several different places in the game, so in a single playthrough you can level it up multiple times. They skip several levels so you only need to level it up 2-3 times to get it to 33. At the end of NG+1 you should have the vast majority of the pictos you actually want leveled to 33.

im aware. a big chunk are up there. i have all 193 pictos and did every fight, shop, etc. there is still some that dont come up multiple times and are all the way down in single digits. hence the Dodger example
