Dont stress, it is the intended order. Citadel has to entrances. You didnt miss any key items/upgrades by doing this and you can progress "backwards" by clearing citadel.

People keep bitching about the muckroaches but I'm not seeing the problem honestly. You can get them by bum-rushing them when they wake up and then aggressively pogoing them. Or toss a poisoned spike ball and then bum-rushing them at the same time the spikes burst on them.

They also pause a little after they leap so bait the leap and smack them on the nose.
You just need to be really aggressive when engaging and start baiting them to leap if your first assault didn't put it down.

Act 3 onwards was such a nice surprise to happenstance into. Combat is great and I love the difficulty upgrade. It has flaws but for me personally it's very close to perfect. Not for everyone though

Anyone else having the same controller issue I'm having?
Basically, sometimes the controller just stops reading inputs. Sometimes it happens when I'm walking, Hornet will continue walking, even after I lift off the controls. Sometimes it happens when standing still. Hornet will not start moving until I press another input. It's becoming more frequent, and so it's making the game more difficult. Does anyone else know what I'm talking about? And is there a way to fix this?

It just started happening with silk song. So I'm not sure if the game is bugged, or if my controller just started bugging coincidentally when I started Silksong.

Silksong's mobs feel on par with some of Hollow Knight's bosses. It's easier to turn your brain off and kill Hive Knight than it is to kill a random fencer in the Citadel.

Savage Beastfly. I get it now, I just got here and I'm getting filtered.

I just can't do it, he spawns 3+ adds that I just can't deal with right before he's about to die and I just can't move around in a way to avoid them or damage them without getting absolutely fucked, and his floor slam move only kills the big guys like 20% of the time.

It's the big guys he spawns though, the ones that take like 5 hits to kill and do the spinning attack that blocks your attacks. I just can't handle maneuvering around those AND THE BOSS at the same time in such a tiny fucking room. None of the other bosses so far have given me this much difficulty, some of them were tough but this one I've already tried 50 times already and can't get past it.

These past few months have been fantastic for ego-stroking. I kind of don't get why this game has so many areas. It's not like most of them are THAT interesting, and nothing feels very big either. We've got multiple variants on the forest level, multiple variants on the sewer / hovel level, multiple fire areas, etc. It feels redundant. And they're all kind of lame, I don't think I've encountered anything that hyped me up as much as Deepnest. The only really memorable area to me is Bellmoor. AND there's next to no real story content in the first half of the game, you're just travelling to where to story content is.

Half of them are hidden behind completely unmarked walls, too, I really don't get that. "Sense of exploration" is nice or whatever but I'm pretty sure I missed every major missable thing my first time through every area and had to go back when /v/ told me there was something to find. I still don't know where some stuff is, bosses or whatever I've heard about and not been able to find in their area.

It seems overscoped, to me. Like they just kept making more and more tilesets and enemy sprites and forgot to do anything with them.

I actually like Underworks thematically, because it's finally a payoff (no pun intended) for all the Rosary jewery the game keeps throwing at you. It makes it clear that there's a cohesive design intention behind it all. And it makes sense why you're there, there's immediate gameplay consequence to the choices you make. Eva upgrades are definitely tied to either total unlocked slots between all crests or used memory lockets since I was at the bench and kept unlocking more slots and trying until she gave me another upgrade.

This game goes from pure absolute kino to frustration quite a bit. I think this game can become almost all pure kino with some balance changes honestly. The meat of the game is fantastic, just some weird and possibly dated(in the sense some parts feel like they were developed 7-5 years ago and others feel like within the last 3)

The music and art are fucking outstanding. I just did HK blind 2 weeks ago and holy shit the jump in quality with those two things is massive.

Muckroaches look and behave like they were taken straight out of an oddworld game and the beginning part of the citadel is self-explanatory I feel. Also one of the muckroach feeders (the super annoying flying one) has a voice actor doing a slig-like voice.

The cocoon is just stupid game design. It's fine in Dork Souls because youre not doing that much exploring, 90% of the time you're just doing a straight shot from the campfire to wherever. But in this, half the time you go in one direction you find a dead end or a gauntlet or whatever you really don't feel like dealing with, and you're forced to keep going back there to get your rosaries.

It'd have been better if you just lost 20% of your rosaries by default every time you died. It would be more thematic to what they were actually trying to accomplish with the rosary economy.
