I don't understand how people can say DS2- it is such a failure to iterate on the concepts that made the first game enjoyable. It is bloated and had all the challenge drained out of it. It's really lacking in the emergent moments. You are given a gorillian tools with zero reason to use two thirds of them. Introduces better stealth and cool extraction missions only for you to be blueballed because failure is treated so softly in this game that stealth at all is almost completely pointless except the one time they have a hostage

God im mad. It's just so obviously bad from a design perspective and Kojima cares so much about his metascore that he's afraid to challenge the player anymore

If it were up to me, it'd be Nightreign. Only game this year I've wanted to put more than 100 hours on (I'm at 761.2 hours, although I did basically quit a few weeks ago I expect to come back for the new patch/DLC this week). Second choice might be Abiotic Factor which was so good after a single playthrough I had to convince my friends to give it a go and just started it again.

E33 I couldn't tolerate for more than a few hours and I haven't bothered with Silksong at all yet. Hollow Knight was good but not THAT good, I never even went back for the post-launch content. Maybe I'll play Silksong when I really feel the need for a metroidvania, but not now.

My prediction would be E33 because Silksong seems to be disappointing a fair percentage of its audience.

If E33 didn't come out then Silksong would've won. Would've been nice for Team Cherry but E33 deserves it more
