We've seen full priced remastered games for generations, cheap badly made remasters for full price and basically nobody complained so this is just copium. 3D All Stars is now worth $100+. These will be the same. It's a good investment. Nintendo games NEVER get cheaper, so you can always resell them for the same price or more, or just use them as life insurance (they will be worth a ton in 50+ years).

If you ask a Nintendo fan the reasons to own a Switch 2, you won't get a personal opinion, but rather a systematic listing of things that "proves" why the Switch 2 is GOOD VALUE. Nintendo has created the perfect enviroment with deliberate dry seasons so that their fans get hungry, so when the next exclusive drops, they'll automatically go out and buy it simply because its the next exclusive.

I got GTA V Enhanced Edition for free just for owning the original GTA V. It's extremely clear that the work that went into making the enhanced edition is leagues greater than the work that went into porting Mario Galaxy 2. I also want to remind you that the work for Galaxy 1 was already done, since it was released in the 3D All-Stars Collection, and as another anon mentioned was released even before that on an Nvidia product, and is now being resold on its own for $40 which is nearly the original price tag of $60 that 3D All-Stars was sold at. The only visual difference in these ports is an increase in resolution. There are a lot of PC games that don't get "Definitive Editions" despite consoles getting them, because at the end of the day these "Definitive Editions" are simple resolution bumps, and maybe tweaking the setting from medium to high, that come standard in the PC versions. Extra pages in the storybook does not warrant the egregious price tag.

So yes, in a sense you are correct, anon. These are wildly expensive ports that were extremely cheap to create.

The whole open world meme doesnt worry me in the slightest because they already showed some conventionally narrow levels so i guess itll be more like Oot or WW, which is I enjoyed a lot.
