Quality of the game has little to do with it's popularity, people seem to buy obviously mediocre games just because they feel like buying them (because of a recognizable title, familiar characters, high fidelity graphics, memes, streamers, open worlds, casual word of mouth etc). People that say the game is not good enough or too hard or whatever completely miss the point. In order to know whether the game is good you have to play it first which not many people did obviously, at least compared to popular slop.

Objectively NG4's "problems" were lack of proper marketing (I learned about it through 4chan, not the helicopter stunt) and recognizable characters, as well as uninviting visuals (it doesn't look too fun on 480p video) and honestly just the fact that this autumn was fucking stacked.

>Pokemon distribution
I've been thinking about this recently, and I think the issue many younger players seem have with the distribution is that Gen 2, and Gen 1 for that matter, made certain Pokemon rarer and hard to obtain in order to get the player to explore. Case & point, Chansey has a 1% encounter rate in the Safari Zone and can only be found there. Electabuzz and Magnemite are exclusive to the Power Plant, a completely optional area. GSC simply took this idea and applied it to the "newly-discovered species". Natu and Smeargle can only be obtained in the Ruins of Alph after obtaining Surf, Quilfish and Chinchou are fishing encounters, and Heracross and Pineco and found from headbutting trees. You get the idea, the Johto-mons were the reward for exploration. Compare that to modern Pokemon where catching almost anything you want is fairly trivial. I understand people preferring the modern style, but it's a shame that GSC's method is derided as "bad game design" just cause the modern fanbase isn't used to it.

i know i am. I like the bike gimmick but i have to see more. The whole open world meme doesnt worry me in the slightest because they already showed some conventionally narrow levels so i guess itll be more like Oot or WW, which is I enjoyed a lot. Some wide areas to add scale and atmosphere and vary things a little between conventional areas. I was more concerned before this trailer since it looked like it played too similar to previous games. People are getting a tantrum over the desert area are being excessively pessimistic in my opinion.

Mario was never good and anyone who argues otherwise is coping for their poor choice in systems.
In fact, every single game Nintendo makes is half-assed when compared to its competitors.

>"power" is the ability to down someone after you've hit the entire team once then hit someone a second time
>2v8 means a second killer who can at worst help cover legion's weakness with downing people, or at best is constantly powered up thanks to the heartbeat and constant wounding
>devs are too lazy allow any new killers into the mode

So I did the math
out of the 51% of americans who are women (not counting this part), 56% are white. Next, 20% are between 18 and 30, with only 41% in this age range wanting children, and 87% are either straight or bisexual, with 33% being single. To top if off, only 28% aren't overweight or obese.
Assuming these are all statistically independent, there's a 0.37% chance of hitting all of these demographics at once.
This doesn't take into account anything related to character, either, so most of them are probably gonna be horrible anyway.

I've been thinking about upgrading my PC recently and I have a question about modern graphics cards. Can they output 240p resolutions on Linux? I currently do it with crt_emudriver installed to my second and older AMD GPU, and the signal goes from the GPU to a DVI-DL > VGA converter I screw into the card, then a VGA cable to a VGA > YPbPr transcriber box, then from the box to my CRT itself.

It would definitely make my life a lot easier if I could just retire this card and stop using crt_emudriver all together. Ever since I had to upgrade to Windows 10 from 7 back when support for 7 ended, crt_emudriver and Windows 10 haven't gotten along nicely at all. I kind of want to just ditch Windows entirely for my CRT at this point.

Look man, I love DK64 and have never been shy to say it, which is why I can very easily tell you that is absolute bullshit. The consensus has long been that it's an unwieldy, overblown inferior Banjo, so while I'm personally happy to see DK64 get some love in recent days it's disingenuous to say that love was ever universal.

>Still having wooden walls
Just waiting to go up in flames. I think the outdoor dining area is genuinely really novel even if it might be hell during winter times but the fridge seems way too small for my taste (But I usually make fucking huge stockpiles I guess) and also your billion colonists have to go through the kitchen to pick up the food which makes it more dirty. I think you should make an outward facing door in the fridge and do some zoning so they can pick up their food without making the kitchen a food poisoning hazard.
