this is not true, there is one (1) walking segment per new area, once. This drags and is lame, but its one time and no longer than 3-5 mins of exposition.
And some times story fights have one (1) segment before the fight once, usually big mons, thats 1 minute tops. Any hunt after that doesnt have them at all. which is where 99.999% of the gameplay is.

The whole story is mostly gameplay, with cutscenes / walking being a grand total of about 45 mins of the 20-30 hours the story takes.

It's not just the literal amount of quests or monsters or whatever, but also the fact that the game in general is so watered down that it can all be done in no time at all with minimal effort. Most people saying its too much or wounds stunlocking is an issue play in MP, which is always - always easy. Solo is feeling fine enough, easy? Sure but its not rise braindead. You still get oneshot or smacked around if you button mash

Most pozzed entry in the series, most lacking in color, even more cutesy/revealing female armors being removed, alpha/beta armors not having any visible differences anymore (previously were the blademaster/gunner from previous games), more nerfs to weapons that didn't need them, buffs to weapons that didn't need it (like Longsword, since Japs love that shit), glacial update speed, unfinished, trash ass story, horrific optimization, horrific net code, gutter vomit ugliest NPCs yet, trash ass meta enforcing with artian weapons in a series that was originally about custom builds that could be quirky but work (already killing this off in World and Rise though).

Kamura feels close knit and nice and there is lots of places to go in town, not much to do, but there is a substantial detail made towards making it feel like a home. They did the same with Sunbreak's hub even if it felt less homey. Going through the various areas and exploring was fun. It was fun meeting the new monsters. The OST was great. I even liked Rampage mode, though it could have used some fine tuning or at least SOME NEW FUCKING GIANT MONSTERS YOU LEFT SHEN GAOREN AND LAO-SHEN LUNG ON THE TABLE DAMNIT! Rise felt like a Monster Hunter game. It did. Streamlined? Yes. But it still had the feel. I didn't want a second Rise. But I had fun with it. I even hoped against hope the Palamutes would return, albiet nerfed. Wilds is NOT a Monster Hunter game. It is retardedly easy. At least I could cart occasionally in Rise against the really strong monsters. I think I carted a small handful of times when I got very cocky in some of the HR hunts and Lagi.

You can not only move while healing, but do so on a mount faster than most monsters which you can mount after using your get out of jail free tool you just get over time (v Generations where the meter at least gave the illusion of meaningful limitations)
Even in the DLC, most monsters are lucky to last 10 minutes even if everyone literally just runs at it and spams mindlessly because of how damaging skills are, how easy it is to disable or burst damage monsters with endemic life and how easily you can dodge and then immediately go back to offense

My issue with Rise was the awful turret minigame,the uninspired monsters and the poor implementation of the NPCs. I have no issues with the mantles, slingers,healing or crutch claw. Hell there were monsters made to that take into account and we had really difficult monsters as well. Most of you just threw your hands in the air because you didn't like the changes and gave up without trying. I feel like i can say that i enjoy World and that i hate Wilds without being the reason this is such a travesty. I never asked for these things and they were not something tried out in World. Game ran fine for me to but the game is kinda just a shit release. Loved playing it still but it has a fraction of the content other MH games did on release, with a horrendous forced participation story about some indian boy noone cares about, and runs like shit for most people.
