The problem isn't the difficulty because rooms like that are a clear indicator that you're on the wrong, too difficult path and should try another route, that's a great, natural way of telling the player off while not outright forcing a more skilled player to abandon it.
The problem is that copying the FromSouls design can lead to frustrating sequences where if you walk into that room with 200+ rosary beads like I did, then you're forced to complete it or forever lose what you just accumulated over the last three hours, and obviously fucking nobody in the world is going to willingly accept that loss.
Copying souls for no reason other than its popular worked fine for Hollow Knight because it added nothing there so it could be ignore, but it actively adds nothing to Silksong at best, while being super frustrating and forcing players to play an area they don't want to at worst.
