I got half of the seared and skewered when I was back tracking through the citadel for something. And I got the other half in the starting area when going to the weavenest for an upgrade.

I tried getting the parasite before delivering all the stuff for the soul snare, and the town greeter at bellhart told me to talk to the hermit to know where the doctor was.But the hermit wouldnt change his dialogue from the "Soul and Silk" quest that was still going on.

Too many things are locked behind late act2 imo.
You can't really customize much during act 1 despite you going through half of the entire world map.
Also, unlike OG HK, tools do not interact with eachother, further minimizing the potential builds.

Hell I was going through Shellwood to clean up Void Masses and found out Sister Splinter's corpse is still there with a plant growing out of her skull. I loved HK but never quite finished it and these days I've slipped down the slippery filthy casual slope a bit and just don't feel like wasting all my time and energy to git gud anymore since there's vastly more interesting things to do than just playing vidya all day. They're different kinds of difficult due to bosses being designed around different movesets. A lot of people who complain about Silksong's difficulty were used to the more simplistic controls of Hollow Knight. That being said, Silksong is definitely more punishing by having double damage appear much earlier than in Hollow Knight. Without a guide to clean up Mask Shards ASAP you're definitely going to be stuck on 5-6 masks for a while, making you die in 3 hits more consistently.

Cornifer is quite likeable too in his own way but it's not really a competition. And while both are adventurers, Shakra actually sells you on how she is able to actually adventure.
Supposedly Cornifer is stealthy and sneaky, perhaps a little like Gilly. But I'm almost shocked he survived going through all of Hallownest but with Shakra it made sense how she got around Pharloom. I almost got the impression that his wife was carrying when they adventured together, though I guess Cornifer is the high wis adventurer that knows wilderness and how to avoid danger.
But yeah, I like both but it's not really a competition as to who I like more.

Karmelita, Verdania, and the Coral area were some of the EARLIEST shit we saw of Silksong as early as the 2019 trailer. These were the initial ideas they had for Pharloom. Yet they were barely in the actual game except as fleeting memories.

I feel like them getting destroyed by the Citadel represents how during development, Team Cherry themselves slowly changed those areas until they were completely changed. And so they put them in Act 3 as homage and to remember what Silksong/Pharloom originally started as.

The fact that the Mother Trive was so ready to ignore her because the Pale King was proving civil works like toads and sewers, but the Radiance didn't immediately pull a GMS and inflict invasive servitude on them until she was almost literally dying of neglect paints the Radiance as a dismissive, uninvolved higher being who went as far as making the Moth Tribe and then didn't do anything further.

Honestly those were some of the strongest highlights of the entire game, seeing what happened to the coral tower and the clover forest really puts into perspective what an utter catastrophe the rise of the citadel was for the region. It's a great environmentalist message, and it does it in a very subtle way. Everyone is chasing after the fever dream of the citadel, which is barely maintained through slave labor, which has ravaged everything around it to sustain itself, and now only keeps a tiny fragment of the natural bounty through what's basically a zoo. Really powerful and also thankfully not preachy.
