The game as it is, is complete day 1. It's rare in this piece of shit industry I know but while yes a dlc is planned, the game currently is very much completely finished and satisfactory. I think Ninja Gaiden fans the most autistic/schizo fanbase for a character action game series by far.

I'm glad this game gives you the ability to play as Ryu in every level once you've beaten the game. That's something that baffled me with DMC5, it seems so easy to implement being able to do one character runs once you've beaten the game already but they just never put it in.

In retrospect 11K concurrent players is honestly not too bad. Nioh 1 had 10K and that game sold like 3 million units. I can see NG4 doing at least 1 million, maybe 2 million, which is perfectly fine. Maybe word of mouth will help it down the line like it did with DMC5.

NG has been a dormant IP so I don't know what people were expecting.

This game restored my faith in Platinum.

Just beat the game, here's some random thoughts.

I feel like I need my third eye open to understand Ninja Gaiden 2. There's so much going on that I feel a whole new faculty needs opened up to even grasp it. 360 lunar UT and ninpo for chapter 11's respawning 3 rasetsu at once fight, plus incendiary suicide grab ninja fight isn't as much of a peice of cake as some pretend. It definitely is the most viable thing I've discovered for it so far, it will get you somewhere, but it's far from the only thing you'll need to get by. I suspect there's some amount of lying and larping from those that act like 360 lunar UT, UT's in general make this game a walk in the park, or they are seriously overstating it. Yes it's a massively useful tool in OG NG2, but it sounds easier on paper than when you actually try to use it. It doesn't account for enemy positioning, your positioning, your enviornment, and the other things a good player will be employing in those situations. This game is definitely on the higher level when it comes to gameplay density and for that it demands quite a bit from you.

Also the centaur fiends are the most metal enemy in gaming.

I constantly have like 50K cashmoniez and the game loads you to the fucking tits-- there's like, 3 revives in the first few levels alone and I used none of them. Tradition from previous games demands I hoard my items like a dragon until the bosses where I instantly spam literally all of them after my 3rd attempt before getting to the next stage where I instantly refill my inventory again. Even if I don't, the levels usually load you up anyways, and the levels themselves are never hard enough to require use of items EVER.

Sigma 1 is copable, it tries to sand off the edges of the game by removing non action bits but it ends up adding more by including extra missions where you play as a girl who sucks. Sigma 2 is a sloppy rebalancing of 2 which wasn't really a well balanced game to begin with, but instead of being batshit insane they decided to just make it boring. Missions where you play as girls are here but not as bad as Sigma 1, still not really all that welcome. 3RE is the best version of the game, combat is better and the girls are actually fun to play.

Both versions are unbalanced, sigma 2 is just sterile and boring. Basically enemy numbers are reduced heavily but they are much stronger and tankier to compensate for it, the enemies weren't designed for this so it's a lot of wailing on sandbags who aren't equipped to defend themselves.
