Using the above numbers as reference:
>A single deck needs 9 Legendary on average (3 playsets)
>A single deck needs 15 Golds on average (5 playsets)
>There's 7 classes (plus neutral) diluting the card pool
>You can't vial what you get until you have full playset
This means that a player needs to actually open around 743 card packs of any given expansion on average to get enough cards to build a single deck

First off, you CANNOT vial/destroy cards until you have 3 of them previously.
You can only do it from the 4+ copy onwards.

The following are the crafting/vialing rates:
>3500 vials to craft 1 Legendary
>800 vials to craft 1 Gold
>On average you need 9 Legos per deck for a total of 31500 vials
>On average you need 15 Golds per deck for a total of 9000 vials
40500 vials to craft ONE deck

And we get:
>150 vials per day
>Can't vial cards until you have a playset (3 of them)
You actually need to play for 270 days (9 months) to be able to craft ONE deck

TLDR; As it is Shadowverse Worlds Beyond is very hostile to F2P
Crafting decks is not realistic (9 months to craft 1 deck)
Almost all the resources like gold and vials are dripfeed to ensure you can't make a deck on day one
By the time you finish make a deck as F2P 2 or 3 expansions are already out

I've been playing the old shadowverse CCG a bit in prep for worlds beyond. I know what all the types of craft do as far as their themes and approach to gameplay, but can shadowverse veterans help shed some light on which crafts have a higher concentration of busty characters vs those with lower concentration? Seems like runecraft and bloodcraft were pretty good with that, but for set one cards at least, the new abysscraft seems to have the most busty units in it

Shadowba newfriend here I have a few things I'm confused about. I see people saying you can pull alternate leader art. This interests me because the basic leaders mostly look bad. Is there alts for every leader? Any way to target a specific one or do I just have to hope to get lucky?
The other question I had was I heard you get too choose a free deck? Do we know what cards are in those decks? The pictures seem to show a legendary card, do we actually get that card or is it just showing off the class?

Again, the above was in regards to shadowverse 1. I haven't done my homework on shadowverse 2, but I assume that if you simply want a DIFFERENT leader then at some point in the future it will be as easy as partaking in a event or opening your wallet for the cash shop. But if you want a specific one of those alt-art leaders, then you're going to need to get lucky or forcibly spark a set.

I've been playing gacha games for close to a decade now and I have yet to find one that didn't allow you to succeed as a poor if you were dedicated enough. Even with all that stuff, changes like needing 4+ copies of a card before you can vial is just bad design. Some players will obviously have no interest in certain classes or decks and not letting them use those cards are resources for something they actually want to play just because will make the game appear as less F2P friendly.
Of all the other available digital card games or simulators, only Duel Links comes close to having a mechanic this bad, which is entirely regressive compared to the original SV's design.

Meh, it was a big part, but it wasn't what killed Artifact. What killed Artifact was Valve was being too prideful to live with a failure and didn't try to fix it, so they killed it after 2 fucking months. That really left a bad taste of Valve in me. If they kept going, the game had a dedicated enough community to keep the economy floating.
LoR was in the red for basically its entire lifespan (before they killed off PvP), and also in some fiasco with the monetization model at launch (for being too anti-whale, funnily enough) but Riot actually kept it running for years and tried to come up with different solutions, so I'll always appreciate them for that.

For context, Maxx C is a card where you discard it at instant speed and after it resolves, the player draws a card each time the opponent Special Summons.
Since Yugioh is just bullshit convoluted chains of Special Summons 99% of the time, the sheer quantity of cards Maxx C's player gets would usually draw them into a guaranteed win with any respectable meta deck.

Basically it's like if everything cost 0, Arisa did all her Roach type bullshit except for some other big juggernaut payoff that couldn't attack... and then you started your Turn 1 with 10 cards in hand, your most ideal 5 cards in graveyard, and everything you have costs 0 too.

To be fair, the problem with Maxx C isn't the responsive element apparently.
It's the fact that the 1st player goes 1st, vomits out everything, caps off with Maxx C, and then draws into other "handtraps" to counter the opponent's attempt to turn the game around.
Last I heard it was banned in most formats, and other versions were made more so aimed at helping the 2nd player recover without feeding a 1st player who is already ahead.
