Burial Andrew redeems himself but Decay Andrew is such a disloyal fuck that he entertains the idea of siding with Renee instead of backhanding her cunt face to shut her up.

People can inherently be total assholes while also being tragic. Ashley had an incredibly shitty childhood and was unlucky to be Renee's daughter, but most people do not react to their mother being neglectful by happily killing other kids and entirely lacking any sort of empathy. Ashley was clearly born with some mental issues, she clearly has some sort of born ASPD and considering how we find out in Decay that Andrew barely has any shred of empathy himself even during his young life...and Renee herself is willing to kill her kids for money, you can easily make an argument that the entire family has some really bad genes going on, and that they're all just rotten people at birth.

Ashley is not a good person and she never was, same goes for Andrew and Renee.
