Even if we reduced society to hunter-gatherers, or even further to entirely autonomous family units, if I hunt a buffalo that means that it's one less buffalo for another family. The amount of effort it would take versus the payoff would be fucking insane in that specific case because they'd have to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that two people were fucking when there are no witnesses, DNA evidence—presumably—cannot be acquired due to a lack of consent from either party, and neither party will confess. That should would get thrown out as soon as it slid onto a judge's desk, and that's if the police even bothered to pursue it in the first place since they almost always have more important shit to be dealing with.
