When I get to late game I'll let the swordbab keep his followers on board and bug alert the roach back to hand when I soften him up, so he gets semi-board locked.

He'll only be able to summon like 2 ward followers. Its tricky but that's how I'm playing around Amalia and Amelia/Magus late game that basically wins the game for them.

In Aggro? No. In Ramp? He's a 3 of because simply there's no other good endgame cards than him. He is bad when trading a full board, he can't clear a full board, he can't clear Kuon for example, dragons can't even clear blaze destroyers. Orchis is also very hard to clear.

He shines when clearing small boards. You don't use him to stabilize mid game, you use him after clearing the enemy board with Burnite or Twilight. The barrier dragon is incredibly sticky when you can keep the effect. And the 5 damage he does is usually enough to get the enemy in range of Genesis along with another Garyu or a Forte.

I have been playing the game for over a week now on both PC and mobile. I am not F2P as I paid $200 for my first deck. Initially, the economy seems to be very bad (500 gold pack price, lower vial from liquefying silvers, and, critically, no liquefy first 3 copies). I thought it would sucks so bad as a F2P player or a low-spender. One week ahead, I changed my mind. The economy is fine and I can enjoy many good decks. In my current opinion, the only thing that need change is the no liquefy first 3 copies rule.

I am not the luckiest player (no 100 packs key jackpot) and neither I do any reroll. Just straight up normal player that buys all crystal package, plus battle pass. Currently, I have 2 top tier, pretty much fully upgraded decks (puppet portalcraft and artifact portalcraft, 3 if you include hybrid). I also have enough vials from extra cards to upgrade my half-baked decks into good viability (ramp dragon, midrange sword, aggro abyss). The only classes where I don't have enough resources to even make half-baked decks are runecraft and havencraft, in which both have very expensive top tier decks (I am absolutely fine with this, F2P players and low-spenders aren't supposed to have everything). Finally, I have around 7000 gold that I save for next expansion (that is still growing everyday) as I am satisfied enough with my current collection.

So far so good. I am having a blast with this game and I have variety of viable decks. So, what happens that suddenly change my mind and my perspective on the economy? It turns out that the economy is REALLY supported by the freebies that Cygames give (Daily packs, park keys, events, events, events (many of them), bonus packs from here and there, and recently, 3 free legendary packs). So, as long as Cygames keep pumping up these freebies, I think the economy is going to be fine.

As much as I hate the no liquefy first 3 copies rule (and expensive cosmetics lol), I can't give the game negative review anymore.

Honestly I’m just having a lot of fun with this game and wanted to post something positive about it after seeing all the negative reviews.

I’ll freely admit that I’m not a FTP player, but I haven’t spent a ton (only $200) and I’m really enjoying the fast-paced experience and play styles so far.

I’ve never played the original Shadowverse so I’m not doing a direct comparison here. I will say however that compared to the CCGs/TCGs I’m used to (Hearthstone, MTG including physical) the cost here really doesn’t seem out of line from what I’m accustomed to with this genre. Again, not comparing to the original, just the experience of a totally new player.

I was going to wait longer to write a post like this so I could speak with more gameplay experience, but I have a few decks built with reasonable success and am having a ton of fun, and because I almost didn’t start this game because of some of the negative posts I wanted to write from my experience to encourage other new players to try it out!

He costs way less than Lapis, sure, but he requires a more limited resource to gain Storm while Lapis just gets it. Anon, the card pool is crazy limited right now and the meta has shifted several times. People are going to test out and come to consensus on ratios over time. Netdecking is largely pointless right now because people will just collectively come to an understanding as they tech one way or another in accordance with what they play against and with. I don't even think a "best deck" has been found yet because no one has enough reps in the game. People have spent most of their time laddering, which creates an inherent bias towards decks that ladder well. You can only go up, so decks that go up quickly and easily are favored, but that doesn't make them the strongest decks.
Decks are still largely organic anyways as people adjust their shit across games.

Forest plays like aggro early to get in some chip then cedes the board around when evolves come out.
Then you hold fairies in hand and control the board until around turns 6 and 7 where you'll hopefully have a roach.
Then you do a 2 turn death combo where you use the godwood to bounce roach on the first combo turn then end them on the seoncd.
Sometimes you'll need to wait a bit to do the combo if they are threatening lethal that you can't ignore.
THis is why rune is vulnerable to forest as the can only ever surprise you with 4 dmg from hand which often isnt enough so you can safely combo.
Sword on the other hand can threaten a high lethal but that's not until after your combo turns.
The bigger issue with them is getting in chip as they dominate you early and chip is key to being able to kill them before Albert comes online.

Anyone else having problems with ranked chests spawning? I had 1 spawn at the beginning of this reset and have played 17 games since and none others have appeared. I played through every game, no quitting win or lose. Normally I get this done in an hour or so.

double roach was more of a thing with SV1 when it cost 2.
it being three cost makes it a bit clunky to try to do all in one go outside of extreme late game setups.
plus you really don't want to be waiting until endgame sword and portal shenanigans as forest anyways.
so a good general strategy is, get in some early damage (don't be shy to evolve for damage if you get the oppurtunity)
then use lilies and bayles and whatever other tools you have to control evolve turns.
then once super evolve comes online begin running calculations for roach kill in two turns.
ideally you can threaten lethal by turn seven but sometimes you have to wait till turn eight.
this is why you see stuff like olivia used as she helps you deal with stuff like orchis coming down on you without losing too much damage by super evolving her (try to get two pings!)

People are trying to climb, so easier, faster decks are taking priority over more comprehensive decks that play the field better. Tempo Sword, Aggro Dragon, and Puppet Portal play out faster.

Has trouble stabilizing against the fast decks if it doesn't see certain removal cards but its late game isn't as explosive as Rune, Forest, or Portal's. It can still do big chunks of damage with a little setup.

Ramp Dragon is cold at the moment because early pressure is too strong for it and it lacks the ability to hang in against it. Its late game has less inevitability. Aggro Dragon isn't great, but it's fast and is basically a coin flip.
>Sword
Tempo Sword is definitely a solid deck, but inflexible. It just wants to curve out and score hits. It can't dump damage to face out of nowhere aside from with Albert/Centaur, but it can control board space and demand removal/trades like nothing else.
>Abyss
Midrange Abyss is in a weird place because it has an awkward play pattern and has to forgo one-drops to not brick your Cerberus turns, but if you survive to Cerberus then you've probably got it. Aggro Abyss is basically a worse version of Aggro Dragon because it loses to opposing aggro decks.
>Rune
Spellboost Rune can high roll like a motherfucker and steal games, but it's weak in the early game while it builds up and it wants to see Anne & Grea as soon as possible to maintain control while turning the corner into their big turns against the various aggro decks. Dirt Rune is ass right now because it lacks payoffs. People have tried a Dirt package in Spellboost to mixed results.
>Forest
Big baller combo deck that can high roll earlier than Rune, but doesn't have as good control tools. Very one-note at the moment, but effective if harder to play.
>Portal
Artifact is better into the field, but takes longer to play out and requires slightly more thought. Puppet Portal controls the early game while applying pressure and Orchis is one hell of a wincon.

your lategame reach is not bad at all with just cairn as a 0 cost generator, turn 7 kill is extremely highroll. your early game just isn't strong enough to do enough damage for that, and of course as turns go by you're more likely to actually find your roaches

It's fucking baffling how ramp dragon just has nothing waiting at 10pp. Rune has Dclimb and Kuon. Portal has gundam. Sword has Albert. But dragon sacrifices board presence to rush to 10pp then they do and nothing happens. They have genesis dragon losing to any ward in the game and their PP costs are incredibly awkward so they have no real 10pp combos other than Zell+Mammoth or Forte+Marion.

Garyu would make more sense as a fucking 6pp card for how little he does and is paying an extra tax because dragon will have more pp so they should have to pay more pp.

However its important to be looking for lethal earlier if possible.
There's only so long you can stall until you start to sacrifice kill pressure.
