I won the match by default, but I happened to have the cards from a previous week's draft event in my bag. I played against his shitbrew for fun for the remainder of the time with my old draft deck.

I think it's kind of outrageous that one of Norman's effects is fucking Ancestral Recall, and that they've tuned his other effects up to the point where it is almost never used.

Not him, but I also play control abyss. I agree with his overall sentiment in that the turn 10 satan/Dclimb plays are what generally overpowers control abyss and that without it they can probably outgrind you.

What I want to add on top of his advice is that in this matchup I have had success with abandoning the usual control abyss gameplan of carefully conserving evo points while grinding the board and instead adopting an aggressive evo strategy where I just push as much face damage through whenever I can to hopefully end things before turn 10 with an extra boost of damage from cerberus or odin. Sometimes from a slightly unexpected angle like Charon crest reanimating Vuella who gives SEVO Odin an extra boost of damage to swing 9 to the face after banishing Kuon's ward. Norman however puts a damper on that. If you see the abyss player start adopting aggressive damage plays, you'll probably want to heal. But you don't want to throw away your plans for that satan/dclimb play in the process.

Normally SEVOing charon isn't a particularly great idea. If you see them do it though, you should probably go take a look at their graveyard and ponder what they might be scheming.

most notable draws from my packs today were two copies of Aether in haven and two copies of Lilanthium. I did get one copy of ginsetsu.

I'm going to see what I get from my packs tomorrow. I'm due for the pity leggo. I haven't decided which precon deck to get.

I REALLY wish that I could take the leggos from the crafts that I don't want to play and vial them into something useful.

Alouette is exactly the reason why a lot of followers in SV1 didn't get +2/+2 on evo.
