Story content can be easily done with low tier characters, you also also get NSinclair from the free 000 ticket which will carry you through most early cantos.
The deciding factor to play is how much can you handle soulless grinding, you can farm pretty much every single unit from the game (besides Walpurgis units) from grinding MD, it becomes mind-numbing pretty fucking fast though.
If you're interested post some of your rerolls on /lcg/, people there are usually pretty willing to help new players.

The thing is Kitasan is literally the only support card that has the "Human Rights" status right now
After this banner you don't have to pull on a single Support Card for 20 months you can skip every single one of them
You are free to pull for any Uma you want and have fun, and by the time the good Support Cards arrive you will have so much tickets and carrots saved you will be able to get them without much sweat.
