Epoch has added thousands of new quests, apparently. This seems better for the half xp challenge than turtle where you have to go do low level quests or grind mobs to level up on slow and steady.

New quests start pretty much right away, when I was doing the dwarf starting zone you were already getting some new stuff past like the first two quests. Priestbros, what are our thoughts on the racials and which one will you be leveling as? And swapping to at 60 if applicable?

Night elf seems extremely comfy for leveling. Starshards as a 100% free instant cast dot every pull will be very nice. Extra dodge chance is okay, The other defensive is kind of meh but okay if you multi-pull I guess. Meld is kind of shit outside pvp shenanigans. The new day/night passive thing looks cool and should speed up leveling even if only a bit, idk how much value it has at 60 though.

Human seems pretty balanced but other than the spirit its nothing too crazy. Extra wand crit is alright for leveling and the desperate prayer might come in handy a few times.

Gnome seems genuinely the best (at least at 60). Extra int, escape artist for all the encounters it can be useful. And the two actives for extra mana/spirit are great cooldowns.

Haven't really looked much at the horde ones since I'm playing alliance. I'd be going night elf regardless because I like them the most, but its cool to see they have nice racials that should make leveling more comfy. I'd like to stick with them at 60 if they are competitive enough with other racials.

The people who had already been playing Turtle for years had no reason to switch to the PvP realm, and everyone who was new probably got their ass kicked by a paladin once (or saw it happen to someone else) and quit.

Splitting the pop is retarded. PvP servers only worked when there was one server and you had no choice but to play it. PvP died on Classic because faction imbalance and the choice of other servers caused people fed up with the metagaming to just play on PvE instead. PvP will die on Epoch too, just like Turtle, because of the same reasons. You either go one or the other, you can't have both. All it will do is kill the server's chances of succeeding and holding a decent pop. PvErs will be fed up with low pop and slow updates and go back to Turtle. PvPers will be fed up with low pop and metagame camping niggery after everyone hits 60 with nothing else to do for 6 months. PvP fresh is fun as fuck, but it's not worth it to stay on the server after the fresh has run out, but if it's the only server then the pop don't stop.
