The problem with gemling is that qual is increasingly doing nothing for gems and is pure convenience outside of a few that scale damage with quality directly. It still has the insanely good level node (on spells only) and the gem type scaling node. I would say there was potential for the res node or the stat scaling but either nerfed or you simply don't actually get enough for it to be meaningful compared to flat out getting a bunch of extra damage on your gems

It's not particularly eye-opening or anything but it does reinforce that doomers don't even pay attention to the game. Requiring 3 endurance charges for the new Ancestral Warrior Totem was part of the content reveal, it's not a new thing. They just didn't have it correctly in the patch notes.

To be fair I'll believe that on the general attack side of things it's mostly a "buff" except to some archetypes that they raped entirely (totem niggas) but I'd wait to see for the full number of if skills are actually end game viable. it looks like you'll still need 10+ spell levels to get anywhere in the endgame with those though but 20% more damage is rather nice in general. Minions seem INSANE in 0.3. A big problem with minions is that there were only a handful of useful supports for most of them. Being able to have a full 6-link setup with the proper damage supports on your entire army is huge, especially something like Muster which can give every single unit like ~50% MORE damage.

Thinking about alternating High Velocity Rounds with another big physical hit skill as an Impale source, though I will absolutely laugh at GGG if the glaring absence of "other" from the 5% obviates the need by making it loop itself. At first glance Blood Hunt looks good because Bleed has a good number of damage sources and it's a decently-fast AoE, though just shotgunning Fragmentation Rounds looks to be perfectly fine with the bonus of spreading damage better and profiting off a Freeze-stick. Armor Piercing Rounds could chain/fork/pierce all over to spread for Sunder's shockwave while trying to land the melee hit with as much Attack Speed as you can get now that Total Attack Time doesn't strangle it, but that's... Not nearly as good a feel as my 0.1 Gemling doing the Wave of Frost/Fragmentation Rounds combo.

I am honestly baffled by all the warrior dooming.
When you combine it with the fact that now you can double up on your support gems and there will be lots of new skills and talents, it probably was a necessity to tune down some parts. All in all it sounds to me like a huge buff which I'm sure they've tested vigorously.
I have no worries, I think this league is gonna be super fun compared to 0.2.

Baseline I expect that the mark node is underwhelming as fuck with something like an 8 second internal cooldown.

Next thing I'm concerned about is ES availability on the right side of the tree. We already know that top side ES nodes are getting dunked on, so the same will probably apply here. Also I assume that hybrid gear might not roll deflect mods. There's a real chance that Deadeye loses so much ES, that deflect won't offset it.

Usually what gets you is rapid hits or shotgunning hits.
And the biggest elemental oneshots are split damage.

Damage can be incredibly variable and will be even moreso next league given the changes to map modifiers like crit, gain as, pen, etc. I've been hit for upwards of 6k in mapping scenarios before.

I'll admit GGG made some hype for this league. I honestly think a decent number of PoE2 players will come back for new league. Launch numbers might look decent.

But then people will realize they have to play through a 20 hour campaign again (remember a lot of these are people who haven't played since EA launch so they are slow). Half of them won't log in on day 2. 2/3 of them are gone by day 3. Retention is going to be awful this league, and we're gonna be back to sub 20,000 players in no time. But GGG will count that as a success because people bought supporter packs on day 1, so we reward them for another terrible fucking league.
