This functionality is already "in the game", just as an open secret "illegal" plugin that literally everyone uses. If anything, WoW is copying XIV, not only in the housing department but also in the ability to (allegedly, nothing has been proven yet, WoW housing doesn't even exist yet and will likely be dogshit) place things "anywhere", which again, we don't actually know. WoW housing does not exist and so XIV cannot possibly be copying it, and if XIV eventually incorporates BDTH features into the base game, it will just be another instance of them incorporating a popular plugin into the base game.

Yeah, the stuff you can do with BDTH is pretty crazy. Lots of people have jump puzzles in the out-of-bounds zones outside (but inside) their houses. It goes up (and down) very high, and you can place furniture anywhere within the "bounds" of the out-of-bounds zone with BurningDownTheHouse.

This is, of course, in addition to more normally being able to place furniture any way that you would like to place it. This ability already exists within XIV, it's just that it's a plugin. And once again, WoW housing literally does not exist yet, and so we have no idea what it will and wont be able to do, and so XIV cannot possibly be copying it, when WoW doesn't even have housing to begin with. They'd be incorporating features of the BDTH plugin into the game, as they have done with other plugins already.

XIV allows players to do more than you'd ever thought would be possible, including modern apartments, lofts, grottos, forests, and out-of-bounds secret theaters and jump puzzles that you have to lay down on a bed ("secret" clip entrance) to even get to. I highly doubt it. Everything in WoW is just always broken. This is a big feature that they've never done anything like before. They are going to fuck it up. Maybe the hat I'm looking for drops in some random Heavensward dungeon, but I'd never know that unless I look through third party sites or download something like Anamnesis to browse through and preview things I don't have. There's also MakePlace, which I believe is now ReMakePlace, which is as program you can download that you can create a house in. It might be more what you're looking for. I don't know if the plugin broke sometime between now and the last time I used it, but you could also save your MakePlace and "export" it into the game, where if you pressed a button and had all of the things in your inventory it would create the house in game that you made in MakePlace

There are a lot of... archaic things about many systems in the game, yeah. I use Anamnesis to preview stuff. Pretty much any complaint about the game can be fixed with a plugin or a program, which sucks that it's not just in the game, but it's something.

For me, I just don't like any of the changes to the characters or to the way the narrative is presented that Tetsuya Nomura decided to make. Final Fantasy VII is not my favorite Final Fantasy game, but the changes he chose to make a lot of the time betray a fundamental misunderstanding of the source material, and moreover the changes he chose to make are in many cases utterly inconsequential to the broader narrative, begging the question of why they were even made in the first place.

It's like when an American director Remakes a foreign film, but he didn't understand the source material. Honestly, it's a lot like comparing the Korean Oldboy (original VII) to Spike Lee's Oldboy (Remake VII) in how sort of "flanderized" everything becomes. Except imagine Spike Lee released his Remade version of Oldboy as a 3 part trilogy over the course of a decade for also no reason.

Well, I'd like to take this time to point out that Kitase originally said that R=U is wrong and is not intended, and after years of internet debate this theory made its way back to him, at which point he felt the need to clarify that many different people worked on the script, and that the script passed between a few different hands, writing, editing, writing, editing, etc and that the writers didn't necessarily have the best 1 on 1 communication and seem to have more so communicated via the work itself, and he then admitted that he doesn't actually know definitively whether or not R=U was intended because he did not write that part, even though he commented quite definitively originally that it was not intended.

So even Kitase thinks that Kitase is not always right about Kitase's work.

FF7 sequel set 500 or more years in the future. New characters, new villains, new story. We only meet Vincent at one point, and old Red XIII, who dies at some point of the story of old age.

Anyway, he didn't mention how X-2's battle system built the foundation for XIII's battle system, and depending on your taste X-2's is a better implementation of the same exact system. The "command based system" of XIII is very barely command based, X-2's is much more so command based, and in XIII the most important part of the player's input is in timing (and setting up) Paradigm Shifts, not in manually selecting commands. I disagree with the "colorful designs" comment, because the cast of XIII is (in my opinion, we have to say that now I guess) the most bland and uninspired cast in the history of Final Fantasy, with the worst outfits. Only XV's outfits are worse, but at least XV's are a e s t h e t i c, whereas XIII's are just plain ugly. He is correct about the menus though, they are pretty slick.

A few weeks ago, the /ffg/ went almost 7 days before the thread hit bump limit. Then the threads started to get bumped a lot, some of which hit bump limit in less than a day. Now this thread is 3 days old and only 550 posts in.

This is speculation, but I think only handful of people are responsible for the vast majority of posts in the general these days. I don't necessarily mean they're samefagging a lot. They could just be very active posters. But once they finally move on, /ffg/ will really start to slow down.

A better way to present yourself would be to reply with why you disagree or what about my post is something you think differently. I don't even think I said anything controversial. X-2 is the precursor to XIII's battle system, and it involved actually inputting commands (as well as "Paradigm Shifts"), whereas XIII's battle system almost solely involves only the Paradigm Shifts. I don't feel like this is controversial to say at all. I also agree with the slick menu comment. The only thing that I think might have been able to offend you is that I think XIII's cast is bland and uninspired and has the worst outfits. Is this why you are upset? Do you think Lightning or Hope's outfits are *that* good? Why?
