Exciting...The game is harder in several ways, including additional hp and actions on enemies, less loot and magical items, and the ai is supposed to be smarter. Randomized loot to make things fresh, and of course additional encounters.

Playing as a lolthsworn drow ranger with spider companion and a level in cleric for the lolth dialogue.

This is a realistic round for our party of princesses, and the total damage was 39+46+46 = 131, a reasonable and perfectly valid amount.

Soulbreaker is a +1 greatsword that can be used well into Act 3. Actual upgrades only come at the tail end of the game, and wouldn't really budge the damage total that much. You can only use Action Surge once per fight, so that's not relevant for the purpose of simulating the average round and a ballpark of damage. Bladesong isn't an offensive buff so I'm not sure how that's relevant here. Life Cleric is a perfectly valid roleplay choice for Shadowheart. In the example I gave, I didn't go out of my way to choose inefficient actions. These are all reasonable actions for a reasonably built party - everyone has 20 in their primary ability score, the martials have Sharpshooter/GWM for damage, the Wizard is casting an AoE spell. Even then, your powergaming mindset can't help but nitpick and find ways you could easily push that DPR to 200... 300... 400. Thus missing the point.

She likes the slayer form in particular because it is a form of power and she's always happy when the party gains power, but she doesn't actually like the mindless murder Durge because killing people you don't need to kill draws unwanted attention to the party and it's a waste of time while the Absolute still needs to die. She tells you to reign yourself in and focus on the cult if you're doing the indulge Durge. But the one thing she likes from it is the powerful slayer form.

Minthara likes murder and gaining power through evil means, but she prefers to kill towards a purpose and likes following the plan. Random acts of violence go against long term goals.

In-universe the slayer form is powerful, the characters don't know the gameplay limitations of it and why it sucks in the game.

It was added as a bug when they altered her act 2 recruitment scene and was promptly removed again less than a week later in a hotfix where they confirmed again that it was a bug. Minthara hates that gods use mortals and toss them aside due to her own experiences with Lolth, and she sees the same pattern forming with you and Bhaal. She prefers when you reject Bhaal and make your own decisions in life. She is sad to lose the patron god and the slayer form because these are forms of power and support, but ultimately her personal beliefs regarding her resentment of the gods treating mortals like playthings wins out and she approves.

I get why you're going for Tempest Cleric but i will make the argument that EK might be suited better for this build due to Pact Weapon and thus being able to throw your weapon, using a weapon (preferably Hammer) with the Thrown condition feels more like Thor i'd say.

Sure, and he probably could have even done it while dead if he picked a fight with Gortash and/or Orin instead of Tav. But out of all of the bosses you actually fight in act 2, Raphael is the hardest imo (assuming you're not cheesing the pillars out of combat or able to kill him first round). The only harder boss fight is Cazador *if* you take Astarion with you so he gets an extra buff and you have to kill him in three rounds with three characters or have him ascend.

I'd say Karlach because Barbarians get a bonus on Initiative and that is a crucial advantage in any 1v1 situation.
Barbarians also tend to have rather unconvential fighting styles that may be difficult to handle for someone who relied on rigorous training to develop their prowess, rather than instinct.
Sure, Lae'zel may know precisely where squids have their weak spots, when to push a beaten foe but i doubt she has a lot of practice when it comes to fighting a big, burly tiefling that against all odds fought and survived for 10 years in the Blood war.

If Lae'zel and Karlach constantly spar, Lae'zel might beat Karlach consistently due to her developing counter strategies but both going in blind should be more advantageous for Karlach.
