The show wanted to show it as a sort of growth for Tai (Agumon literally says "Tai, you've grown up), when he doesn't act like a child over Sora saying she's going with Matt instead, but it just feels like shit. I've always hated this trope. It's not even jus done with romance. A character doesn't get his goal and to show that he's matured, he reacts to it fine. From what I understand, the original directo (head writer) always intended Sora and Matt to be together. The issue is that everyone else in the show and movie team saw the obvious better pairing, so that was pushed more. It was only later when it was decided that they would have to get together that we got a single episode with her and Matt to push this idea. The movies literally pushed Sora and Tai having a lover's spat because he had no control over the movie's writing team.

On another notte, the Davis and Kari situation upsets me too, but not because of their pairing specifically. Kari and TK makes way more sense for those two. It's just that Davis is obviously meant to be the Tai stand-in/successor character, so him losing to Matt's little brother feels like they're just rubbing it in. I don't even care that Davis doesn't get the girl. It just fucking feels like the Matt brothers are laughing at me.

That's the worse part. Their pairing is only really just confirmed in that episode and the movie, aside from the ending time-skip. We only got one actual episode dedicated to push the ship, and that wasn't really a ship episode. It just came out of nowhere. This one is remembered a lot because it really was out of nowhere, and since the time skip confirms they get together as adults, there's nothing that can be done to change it, save for retcons.

The late game solution, besides gobbling everything up, is Stingmon loops.
When you devolve a jogress, you get both parts. Stingmon can evolve to Jewelbeemon, to Tigervespamon, then down to Dinobeemon, and then Stingmon again, creating an Exveemon every time.
A Zealous Stingmon with agent skills should be able to make it back up to Tigervespamon at level 1.
Exveemon, then, can devolve to Veemon, then up to Magnamon irrespective of stats, which is a Mega for all intents and purposes, with high overall stat growth. Magnamon is always available, and has high stats, making it great food for loading. Additionally, since it will have not-ass Talent, you can just cook a dozen or so of them for a while until it's dinner time for whatever project you're working on.

Stingmon loops ALSO create fantastic fodder for projects, because the split of Exveemon copies the Stingmon's Bond and Talent, meaning this is the quickest, most efficient way to set up large numbers of talent/bond 100 mons.
The only weak point is that the blue stats Stingmon has will be halved every split, so it's not able to dupe blue stat investment.

The limit matters more for low end bond amounts, and is more a tax you need to pay to really get your training projects rolling. 10 bond is generally "enough" for most digimon before you start grinding for Mega+. 100 is arbitrarily high. Basically, Bond as a stat only really matters until you get it to 10ish. Every time you evolve or devolve, (up to the number of times that is your bond limit), 10% of the gained stats are banked as blue stats on that digimon. Technically, level 1 evolutions "waste" banks, but the system is so generous it kinda isn't worth worrying about.
I have no idea what happens when you reach the bond limit, if it starts replacing the oldest, or not banking more. I never reached it on digimon I cared enough about to pay attention to.
Stats gained from agent skills don't contribute to this, blue stats themselves don't contribute to this, but stats gained through training do.
Hypothetically, it is worthwhile to train digimon you plan on evolving, since they'll keep 10% of their gains as blue stats, bond limit permitting. But again, the system is so generous it's not really important to optimize, and it would be faster to just go to the digimon you want and train them to the cap. Blue stats are only crucial for digimon with in battle mode changes, which sometimes have different "base" stats, and so your blue stats are your buffer to keep stats maxed, even after the values change. And building them is probably faster through Load Enhancement, which instead takes 2% of the gained stats of digimon loaded, but has no limit to my knowledge. Training a dozen Magnamon to level 20ish is a pretty meaty ball of stats. But again. Getting to 9999 is pretty trivial, and exploiting all of these is probably only important if you are devoted to a particular Rookie or something.
Most megas don't actually need that much more to reach 9999 even in off stats, extreme dump stats notwithstanding

Your blue stats are a running total. If you have a Wargreymon with, for simplicity's sake, 100 in a stat, and your Koromon gained some amount of bond before you evolved it, never evolved anything besides these examples, and never loaded anything, that 100 is made up of, again, for example, maybe 15 from Koromon, 20 from Agumon, 25 from Greymon, and 40 from Metalgreymon.
If you devolved your trained Wargreymon, it might contribute another 20, for 120. If you trained it as metal greymon more then evolved it, another 15, for 135.

The only way to lose blue stats is by devolving a Jogress, which splits the blue stats between the two digimon it produces.
You might be able to sponge up blue stats by jogressing blue stat banks into a "main" Digimon, and then devolving off into something else later, but I haven't tested this.
Or maybe by hitting your bond limit. But again, I have never reached the limit on anything that wasn't a shitmon I didn't care about, so didn't pay attention to.

Aoi doesn't really develop she just does a convenient 180 when necessary. That was the problem with his character, for the longest run of it she lacks personality, presence and anything interesting going on to get us hooked like how one character is afraid of a surgery that might fail, one is trying to change and become more social to honor his mother's memory after she passed away, one is suffering from high expectations and emotional abuse from his father which ends up leading him to put the same expectations on lopmon.

(which only presented in wrathful route where it was implied Takuma isn't as close with her compare to other route and Kaito isolated her from getting support from other by suggesting to leave her alone). Saki honestly kinda dependent on Aoi (both her ultimate and mega evo scene only talked about Aoi) while Aoi can stand alone. Even in wrathful route her motivation concern group as a whole not just Saki compare to Kaito whose motivation only concern Miu etc.
